    Coating and Clear Bra, PPF

Was that film coated with opticoat, CQ, etc? Wow that's a lot of YUCK on that front end! A little amazed it came off so well!

    Coating and Clear Bra, PPF

I'm gonna pretend I didn't read that, cuz I just bought all my stuff to correct the light marring so I can put the PPF over it. :autowash:

    Coating and Clear Bra, PPF

That's what's been a little confusing for me. I've had Xpel-authorized installers say to do it OVER the coating, and others say the opposite. As far as the film 'moving', I wonder if that refers to the self-healing properties of the film. And my understanding is that Xpel and Suntek film...

    Coating and Clear Bra, PPF

I've seen that, but I'm always a little wary of these recommendations. Sometimes, I think they're looking out for the best interest of their film (adhesions issues), not necessarily the best interest of your car, which is what most of us want. They are not one in the same. They don't want...

I've heard they generally have harder paints, except the jet black, as you said. But I thought they were using water based paints now, and I've heard of people getting way...

M3 is Revived and Coated with Optimum Gloss Coat

I know you stated the paint was pretty thin, but how would rate the hardness? Or hardness of newer BMW paints you've worked on?

    How much water?

Pressure washer will definitely save you water. Also, if water consumption is a concern, ONR might be good if it fits your needs.

Should I clay or polish instead?

If time is of any value, and you do end up getting a DA polisher, why not give AutoScrub a go?

    Looking for Detailer

Hi all, Long time lurker, and detail hobbyist. I'm in the SF Bay Area, and I'm looking for a good detailer in the East Bay. I enjoy detailing, but find I don't have time these days to do the type of full detail I'd like; the type I see on these forums. A full prep/decon, light polish, and LSP...
