Optimum car wax gets my vote. Comes in a spray form which is as easy as spraying on and wiping off. Takes 10 minutes to do the whole car. Finish is very slick and glossy, durability is also quite solid. Advertised as 5 months but prob more 2 to 3 in real world conditions depending where you are...

Yes, I think I'm quite aware on what caused the streaks . In fact I was aware of these before my application and I've applied it one other time before to great results!!! There was just less leeway and margin for error than I thought. That'll teach me....

Wow!!! Thanks for this, but hopefully I will never have to use it :D Would diluted IPA be an appropriate solvent? Or are there specific paint solvents for automotive paint? And would carpro's eraser do the job? Thanks again for all the info. Really appreciate it.

Also, I think where I went wrong is when you actually apply the clear. I pretty much filled the chip with colour all the way then topped up with clear, leaving noticeable excess blobs. Am I correct in saying I should have filled the chip enough with colour but just below level. Then filled in...

Hang on, so you dab in colour then clear right? Also with using the credit card to squeegee the excess colour /clear, aren't you spreading the paint to surrounding healthy paint? I'm picturing it being messy in my head.
