Dye from clothes on fabric seats

If the leather is coated (slick finish with shine) then 1Z Einszett Plastic Vinyl Deep Cleaner will take it off with ease. First found the tip on the company's web page. Makes quick work of getting blue jean stain off light colored seats.

    Griot's HD wheel cleaner

Griot's HD is certainly an excellent wheel cleaner but didn't find it stood out from the pack. When it's on sale probably a good choice; when not see what else is available. Several of these newer generation wheel cleaners just seem to be running a tied race to me.

    Sealant/protectant for the engine bay

Meguiars D170 Hyper Dressing at 4:1 works well in the engine bay. Water based so no solvent fumes to worry about. Sonus product works well too but you really have to force yourself not to touch it and seems a bit thicker in application.

    Drinking Alcohol to remove sealant?

You would need to dilute down to about 10-15% (20-30 proof) but it would work. More concentrated alcohol could get under the paint via the chip and loosen or somewhat "melt" the paint potentially causing damage. Also the longer you left the alcohol sit the greater the risk.

What's your "Go To" products on boat detailing?

3M's Marine Line is also a great group of products. The Marine 31 line looks interesting; have to find a friend with a boat; sold mine a few years back when my hip started giving me problems.

    touch up paint

Small amount of Meguiars Mirror Glaze #105 Ultra-Cut Compound on a terry cloth can buff off the touch up paint by hand; use a finger tip to apply heavy pressure. The touch up paint will be softer and can be "sanded off" by the combination of pressure, texture of the cloth, and polish. Once you...

    Major plastic trim on lexus

Treat the body colored areas like the rest of the car; any good sealant or wax. We had a couple of Lexus and yes they use a lot of non-metalic body parts to save weight. Any black trim can be treated with one of the specialty dressings for trim. Lots to choose from which make looking at the...

Removed Dye Transfer on Beige Leather

All light colored leather is prone to pick up the denim dye. Regular cleaning / treatment will minimize problems. I was at first a bit skeptical but 1Z Einszett Plastic Vinyl Deep Cleaner works great to remove the dye. Be careful in cleaning so as not to remove or scratch the thin layer of...

How to detail a hybrid engine?

Minimal use of water and be careful of wiring on/near the electric motors. Believe the battery pack around 300 volts for those. (Ouch!)
