    IPA wipedown to remove polymers?

Thanks. I just don't get it. I just applied it a few weeks ago. And I even applied a second coat (within 1 week of the 1st,optimum told me this was ok as long as it's in the 30 day curing window). I clayed and did a paint correction, followed by Detailers Coating prep polish.

    IPA wipedown to remove polymers?

No, we are on the same page. I'm trying to remove the polymers bc I don't want the polymers to cause the beading. I want to test my coating.

    IPA wipedown to remove polymers?

Im trying to determine if my OC 2.0 failed. My hood is not beading in this morning's rain storm (it's just soaked with a pool of water). All other panels are somewhat beading. There is a lot of pollen in the air and this may be the cause but my wife's vehicle is beading better with a 2 month...

    Prepping plastic trim for opticoat

Thanks, that's good advice. I've used that tire cleaner before with good results. I should have done this on my mudflaps bc the plastic turned slightly white in a couple of spots when I applied OC.

    Prepping plastic trim for opticoat

Finally finished applying OC 2.0 on my fullsize truck. I did 2 coats 1-2 weeks apart. Anyway, I'm going to start a light paint correction and prep my wife's Honda CR-V. It has a lot of plastic trim, including the bumpers. I've been maintaining the plastic with products like Mothers Back to...

    megs ultimate black tire coating

I've had similar results and I'm on my second can. I've been topping it with endurance gel. I'd like to think that the costing is still intact, just not shiny, but can't really tell if it's there or not.

    opti-coat on plastic (textured)

This happened to me on my plastic mud flaps. Anyone know the cause?

    Problem with DP paint coatin

Me too with OC 2.0. But I thought it was because I had water drip onto my hood only 18 hours after applying. I chalked it up that the coating wasn't cured yet. I'll see what happens after 30 days.

    ONR 1 bucket?

So then I'll do 1 bucket, 1-2 gallons and dump it out after each wash.

    ONR 1 bucket?

I'm using MF towels until my Mitt ships. I have a fullsize SUV and my wife has a mid size. I'm tired of using so many towels. The Mitt supposedly releases the dirt. I like the idea of using the MFs on the wheels, but I love using my brush. I have 20" wheels with 8 spokes and big tires...

    ONR 1 bucket?

I've been doing traditional 2 bucket washes. I just did a paint correction and applied opticoat. I plan to wash with mostly ONR. After doing some research I have read that ONR causes dirt and particles to sink to the bottom of the bucket. Is it safe to use only one 5 gallon bucket of ONR...

Please help quick! Opticoat curing and water spots

Thanks. So I am thinking a little IPA or ONR wiped on with a MF to prep the area? Not sure if I should wait a week so I don't ruin the intact coating around it.....

Please help quick! Opticoat curing and water spots

Thanks guys. I'll wait a week. Would Detailers Coating Prep polish be good for this since it is non abrasive and shouldn't effect the coating? Are you saying that I can apply opticoat to a spot I missed bc it hasn't fully cured yet? If this is the case, I'm wondering if I can apply a light...

Please help quick! Opticoat curing and water spots

I put opticoat 2.0 on my hood yesterday and today while driving under an overpass, some water dripped on the hood. By the time I reached my destination it dried and I used ONR in a spray bottle to clean it. I have spots in the coating now. It was curing for about 18 hours when it happened...

    Please critique my method

Couldn't find that size for some reason so I ordered a 10 pack of 10x10's

    Please critique my method

Thanks. I just realized I need one more thing cleared up. Since I will be doing one panel at a time, How will I keep my opticoat applicators fresh? I saw a video where a guy put a rubber glove over the yellow foam applicator and then wrapped it with a blue shop towel to apply the coating...

    Please critique my method

Nothing wrong with "office use." So I refined my method, here goes: -Clean 1 panel with ONR wash and shine. -Clay with ONR -Meg's ult liquid compound with my Meg's DAPS (really want a PC, but he DAPS seems capable enough). I'll try a yellow pad first and if not enough correction, I'll go to the...

    Please critique my method

Makes sense. I think I'll do that, especially since I have a full size truck. It'll allow me to perfect my coating applying skills too. If I don't like the way a panel came out, I know what to do on the next panel and won't have to compound the entire vehicle covered in Opticoat, just one...

    Please critique my method

Thanks! I've been doing more research and reading all the helpful comments here. Can I wash and do a paint correction without claying first? Reason I ask is this: I have limited use to a friends garage. So I want to experiment with the paint correction as stated above, and when I get it to...

    Please critique my method

I will be doing a full detail soon, and want the final step to be a "coating" instead of the sealant I usually use. Can someone please critique my process (the following products are what I already own, with the exception of Carpro Eraser and Pinnacle Coating)? -I currently only have Meg's...
