Here is a shot using the Lake Country orange CSC pad. The paint was already in good shape for 21 year old paint. Just playing around with the pads I have, seems to be working pretty good.

I would use some Menzerna FG400 on an orange pad. Easy to use and fantastic results. They changed the name recently. If fhe paint is not too bad you could also start with something leas aggresive like this. Menzerna Medium Cut Polish 2500, one step polish, swirl remover, finishing polish, car...

Rather have the coating absorb scratches than the clear. Using the right products and methods they are very easy to maintain. There are many soaps designed for coatings. Maybe I'm missing something in your post, but it is pretty much no different than normal washing, minus the product used.
