    Question regarding Collinte 915 durability

It's Still Beading! I know digging up old threads in not looked upon with favor, but I figured I should close this thread out as "Solved"! My original post questioned my method of applying Collinite properly to achieve a good coating for looks and durability, and I last posted showing a good...

    Question regarding Collinte 915 durability

OK, I actually got some time this weekend to redo the wax. Washed it up good with Gold Class Car Wash, wiped it down with an IPA/Water mix according to these instructions...

    Question regarding Collinte 915 durability

Nothing just yet; I haven't had the time to get to it. Hopefully this weekend I can get some time to redo the wax. I'll keep you guys posted!

    Question regarding Collinte 915 durability

I was questioning if it was the BF polish, since after using it that paint couldn't have been cleaner! I guess if I get a chance to redo it soon I'll try the IPA wipedown to doubly make sure.

    Question regarding Collinte 915 durability

No, it's good 'ol GM clearcoat, but I do park next to a tree patch. I though about that could be causing it but this was after I washed it so I don't think the tree stuff should have affected the wax quality...should it?

    Question regarding Collinte 915 durability

See, and I used Blackfire's Gloss Enhancing Polish which is essentially a paint cleaner, so that's why I'm puzzled by the wax's performance. Oh well, will have to try that IPA rubdown... Anyway, I appreciate the quick feedback and look forward to any more ideas!

    Question regarding Collinte 915 durability

Haha, well, my post was not supposed to discourage people from using it! I did not do an IPA wipe down though I did consider it. I feel that the problem was I didn't let it haze long enough in fear of not being able to remove it easily, but it could have been anything. My joke is that my car is...

    Question regarding Collinte 915 durability

Hey everyone, I'd like to ask anyone else here if they've had issues with Collinite 915's durability. I'm in love with the fact that Collinite is supposed to last at least four to five mouths, which is a boon to anyone who lives here in the snowbelt. Im the MAN However, I've had difficulty in...

    Dealing with paste wax

If you have a light color car such as myself, these can hide some of the wax residue that otherwise would have been taken off during buffing. My car is white, and even after extensive wipe downs, I pull it out into the sun and often see places where I've missed. Perhaps this is what happened to...

How much Collinite 915 should I put on my pad?

I'm from the northeast around Erie; plenty of salt around here in the winter. I should have tried that bonnet method. I was thinking that a wool pad with the bonnet may not give enough adhesion to remove the wax. I'll try it on my next detailing job, which may be sooner than I expected if this...

How much Collinite 915 should I put on my pad?

Yessir, I believe I did finally master the all-mighty Collinite! I know exactly how you feel about selling. The other day I saw an ad on a bulletin board at college for a mint condition 2000 Saab 9-3 asking only $4200. My Ultra's frame is in great shape but the door bottoms are really starting...

How much Collinite 915 should I put on my pad?

Ah, THAT's the answer I was looking for! I think I actually came to the same conclusion just now; I decided to experiment a little while I was waiting for some replies and found that with roughly the same dime-size amount I was covering about one panel (half a hood) before reapplying, as seen...

How much Collinite 915 should I put on my pad?

Hello everybody, Well its that time of the year again, when those of us with our cherished DD's msut take advantage of the final warm days of the year to winterize our vehicles. Today is my lucky day in that after 4 weeks of sub-60 degree rain and leaf-dropping, we have one final sunny 70...

    Review for Meguiars Ultimate Compound

Excellent shots! You really do look like you are taking pictures of the lights. UC is one of my favorite detailing products; on its own, it can REALLY wind back the clock on an older vehicle's finish, in the "Dude, did you get a new truck?" sense.

    Meguiars Ultimate Compound

We have white vehicles, too, and have had great results using UC on its own. I was skeptical the first time I used it, but was shocked at how well it finished without using a lighter polish. Of course, white hides any micro-marring that is left quite well, but even under a halogen light I have...

Can we get Abbreviation Chart Please!!!

You're not the only one. I'm a junior in college (an Electrical Engineering Major, nevertheless!) and I have YET to find a true desire for texting or smartphones! People are always asking me: Dude, you love anything electrical or technical, so why aren't you into smartphones or texting? I tell...

    Klasse Durability Issue

WOW that was fast, thanks! I was thinking that the moisture was the issue; I just wanted to confirm. I have a nice weekend coming up, so I'll see if I can redo the application. By the way, I did use a clay lube: Meguiars Quik Detailer

    Klasse Durability Issue

Hello all, I have a 1999 Buick Park Avenue that I cleaned and prepped for winter back in October. I first washed and clayed. For my LSP I used two coats of Klasse Sealant/Glaze, each coat applied approximately 12 hours apart from each other. My problem now is that the Klasse on the hood, roof...
