    Thanks Danielle !

I have two things that everyone should remember: 1. Customer service employees are rarely paid enough to deal with rude people. 2. Would you still act the same way if the other person was not bound by the risk of losing their job? Think about that for a moment. Every customer...

Need advice. One problem I am not able to overcome

When a car comes to me for the first time and it's dirty it is impossible to see all the flaws and this is often why customers aren't even aware of them. No amount of pre-inspection is going to catch everything. Take photos and video. Most customers never look at their vehicle from 12 inches...

Look what happened to my car!

If it's just the holograms you should be able to go straight to finishing. Black BMW can be frustrating. You might want to have a few polishes on hand to save yourself any potential headaches. Before you begin I highly recommend taking many good photos of every panel and inspect closely...

OMG! Call them right now and leave a message not to touch the car again. Thay couldn't do this right and now they are talking about sanding? They don't have a clue what they are doing. CALL THEM NOW! Get a full refund. If they refuse let them know you will share this thread more publicly...

Trim Restorer Showdown - Round 2 (Long and Pic heavy)

I got to see the BMW briefly today. It has been over 8 months since application and been exposed to both winter and summer conditions. The vehicle is dirty so that might be partially responsible for the slightly faded appearance of each of the products. Even though Solution Finish has faded a...

Black Pearl - Review and Airbrush Application

Continuing on; I happened to see some Meguiar’s Ultimate Black Tire Coating at a store and thought I’d give it a quick review and comparison. I immediately knew I wasn’t going to like the Meguiar’s. This is how each product looked immediately after applying. Notice the oily look of the...

Black Pearl - Review and Airbrush Application

I am often late to the game when it comes to new products. The “flavor of the month” is too often the dust collector on the shelf the following month. When I first heard about Black Pearl Tire Shine I was skeptical to say the least. The claims sounded much like so many other similar products...

    Avalanche Plastics

DLux will work. Gtechniq C4 and Carmor Fade to New are similar products and should do well also. You will likely need more than one bottle of DLux to cover everything. I used about 45 ml. of C4 on the last one I did, including the bed covers.

Trim Restorer Showdown - Round 2 (Long and Pic heavy)

Re: Trim Restorer Showdown - Round 2 *Updated 7/8/14 (6 month)(Long and Pic heavy) For most products an ounce or so should be enough. Whatever it takes to cover about 3-4 square feet so I can test a small section on a few different pieces.

Trim Restorer Showdown - Round 2 (Long and Pic heavy)

Re: Trim Restorer Showdown - Round 2 *Updated 7/8/14 (6 month)(Long and Pic heavy) 6 month update: The 4 at the bottom are still holding up well. None appear to have any signs of fading. The test panel has been exposed to the weather nonstop and seen plenty of weather. I have not washed the...

    Share useful and weird tips

    1. Use an AIO on MF folded over an old gift card (more flexible than a credit card) to clean/polish between cracks/seams that can't be reached by polisher. The AIO will provide cleaning ability, add protection and is easy to remove in the same manner with a clean part of the towel. This is...

A very important word of caution - Everyone should read

Since I didn't see it happen I can't say for sure. It could have been in direct sunlight, the surface could have been hot due to having just been driven with the lights on, left on too long, or just a specific reaction with the coating of the lenses.

A very important word of caution - Everyone should read

A couple of days ago one of my customers contacted me in a bit of a panic. In an attempt to remove the bugs from the front of his Lexus he sprayed it with Stoner Tarminator. While Tarminator is an effective bug remover it turned out to be too strong for the plastic lenses of the headlights and...

    Paint color advice?

I have detailed many BMWs and I think a very clean, polished white one looks better than Silver. Silver will show less and be easier to keep clean but I also don't think it will give you the same satisfaction when done. A polished white BMW in the sun is blinding.

    Trim dressing that wont run?

Perl is fine for basic details. For longer durability I like Ultima Tire & Trim Guard Plus. Upsell to a coating like C4 or Carmor for best durability but cost is too high to include on regular priced detail...

    Carpro PERL advice

Some tires just don't take some dressings well. I find that on some tires a second application after 10-15 minutes helps even it out. I usually apply 1:1 and if it doesn't give the look I want I will follow with undiluted.

    Tip Jars

You expect good service at a restaurant and the server expects (and the IRS expects and taxes the server on) the appropriate tip. You know this going in. Why is it fair for you to receive what you expect but the server not to? If you truly feel that tipping should be abolished, simply inform...
