    Waxaholics!

My name is Hammer. I am a waxaholic. In the beginning, I started out just being happy with washing my car. Then I graduated to cheap over the counter waxes. I would just wax once a year. Then, I bought a new car. That is when I fell into my present addiction. I wash and wax my car 2-4 times...

    Souveran Alternatives?

Thank you fellow members for your input. You have given me ideas for upcoming purchases. I will eventually try them all. Last night I placed an order for Blackfire Midnight Sun and the polymer spray. I really like the Pinnacle wax but it doesn't seem to last very long. I'm hoping that the...

    Souveran Alternatives?

I'm using Pinnacle Souveran over WG sealant on my Camaro. I like the ease of application and the car really shines. Looking at the store I see Chemical Guys Project J97 but at $999 that's waaaay too rich for my blood. Any suggestions for an alternative to Souveran or is this the true cat's...

Ever See a 6' 280 lb Man Cry?

Thanks all. Ok, this will most likely be the last post of this thread. I did contact the adjuster and he did assure me that the shop did take pix of the car with the glass removed. There also pix of the car in primer and in the paint booth. But the question remains: Why does it appear...

Ever See a 6' 280 lb Man Cry?

... And the saga continues... So, I got the car back last Wednesday. The owner instructs me not to wax the entire roof for 30 days because he re-sprayed the roof and the paint needs to "breathe". I wasn't even going to wash it! I asked him how he performed the repair and he said that while...

    My First True Detail...

My car looked sweet for one day. Some bonehead throw a rock from the freeway overpass and dinged up the roof. Only about 500 miles on this new car. Still waiting to hear from the body shop; might pick it up Friday. I have a sweet Corsa cat-back that the UPS guy just dropped on my porch...

    My First True Detail...

Nice job! I accomplished my first shot at a pro-type detail on my Camaro 2 weeks ago. I used the PC too. I found it quite easy to work with. It's satisfying to see results. Now I'm looking to practice deeper correction on my '99 Lumina.

Ever See a 6' 280 lb Man Cry?

Visted with the adjuster. She priced the job at 550 bucks. I asked her about the method of correction. She stammered and couldn't produce a coherent reply. She walked inside and went into her office to print up the paperwork. Meanwhile, I taunted the reception guy with pix of my bikes and the...

Ever See a 6' 280 lb Man Cry?

Rix, thanks for your time and the information. The damage goes beyond the clear and base. It appears it goes into the primer. I'll return with the information that I receive from the adjuster and I plan on visiting a couple of shops this morning to see what they say. Such beautiful day...

Ever See a 6' 280 lb Man Cry?

I still would like to thank everyone that has taken the time to reply to my thread with consideration and knowledge. I just had a short chat with a maintenance guy here at work. The same thing had happened to him earlier this year in the same exact place. That time the lowlife had better...

Ever See a 6' 280 lb Man Cry?

The phone pix/garage lighting don't really offer the best depth perception. Here's another pic that allows a little better view of the depth.

Ever See a 6' 280 lb Man Cry?

I was out in the garage listening to Hendrix and having a few cold ones. Thank you everyone for your consideration. As requested, I snapped a few pix with my iphone.

Ever See a 6' 280 lb Man Cry?

I have owned my 2012 Camaro for less than 3 weeks. I clayed it, took the PC and polished it, took the PC and sealed it, I massaged 2 coats of $100 a jar wax. As a noob to pro-type detailing this took me days to accomplish. The car looks awesome! I was proud! Last night while driving to...

The product is not the TW Black Box with wax and detailing spray; this is the tire dressing.

    Black Tire Coat removal

Here's an update: I douched the sidewalls with Simple Green and took a brush and had at it. The coating was very reluctant to give up the ghost. This required something with more muscle. I wheeled out the pressure washer to give it a go.. The pressure washer is the ultimate weapon to get...

    Black Tire Coat removal

Thank you for the advice (Bobby, Alex, et al). The all purpose cleaner looks like it will do the trick. This product is gaudy looking, IMO. Too shiny and plastic-y. It didn't "set" evenly. It is supposed to have months of longevity and I just can't wait until it wears away. Some people may...

    Plan B: Operation Wolfgang

I was quite surprised that PPE corrected it, too. Besides the polishing compound the PPE is the most aggressive product on my shelf (my shelf is actually quite bare lol) The HD finishes are quite soft. I tried to post pix of before/after but the upload failed twice.
