Looking for a new car... Opinions?

The engine has 17.4 psi of boost and I have heard of it being increased by a decent percentage with aftermarket parts. For some specs and a fairly accurate review, check out the Edmunds Inside Line Review of the car. I have to admit at this point - I should have said it sooner - that I do not...

Looking for a new car... Opinions?

The Hyundai Sonata Turbo is fairly quick and gets us around 32mpg - we drive mostly on the highway with a little city driving. In the SE trim package, the performance is very sports car like, but you give up some of the luxury features of the Limited. If you have the chance, take a '11 Sonata...

    2nd Headlight restoration

No, this is a different truck. This is a '99 Durango. I will be going over the '01 Sante Fe again (full detail this time) in the near future. I have not had access to the Sante Fe since my first attempt at headlight restoration. I will post the new results for that truck in its thread when I...

    2nd Headlight restoration

This is my second attempt at headlight restoration. Again, I used the diamondite kit. This time I used 3 cycles of enhancer, 2 cycles or restorer, 1 cycle of plastx, and 3 sprays of protector on each headlight. These headlights started out quite bad. Here is the end result. I had to...

    First headlight restoation

Thanks for the suggestion. I will do that when I can get the truck back here. I am not sure if the kit can get rid of the haze or not because the lenses are scratched like someone tried to sand them with 400 grit paper. The results you see above are from 3 cycles of enhancer (yellow pad), 2...

    First headlight restoation

I just finished my first headlight restoration (2001 Hyundai Sante Fe). I used the Diamondite headlight restoration kit. There was some severe scratching on these headlights along with some internal hazing. I was not expecting to get paid for this job, but dad was so happy with the results that...

helping a new AG member out this weekend. Roadtrip!!!

I wanted to thank everyone again for an amazing two days. Dave really is one inspiring guy and I truly feel blessed to have had the opportunity to meet him in person. I now understand some of the reasons why he is successful at what he does. From the moment I met Dave, I could easily tell...

Looking for a new car... Opinions?

I have not seen this mentioned yet, so I will post it since it may have some value (or not). Hyundai currently has a trade in value guarantee based on MSRP for its '11 and newer cars, so you at least know what trade in will be. Hyundai Assurance | Trade-In Value Guarantee

Looking for a new car... Opinions?

After owning an '11 Hyundai Sonata, I have to suggest the Sonata. Look at the '10s and the '11s and see which you like better. The '10s have a nicer interior. but the '11s in my opinion have a nicer body style.

helping a new AG member out this weekend. Roadtrip!!!

I just noticed this thread and wanted to comment. Dave is simply an amazing person, and I feel honored to have had the opportunity to meet with him. On day 1, we had a late start - 5P - because I had taken a planned trip during the week expecting to return home on Friday at 10P. The trip went...

Is detailing a business for the disabled

I am so excited! If things go as planned, I will have the honor of meeting TDave next weekend. I feel so honored that someone is willing to make a multi-hour trip to help me learn and allow me the joy of first hand experience detailing with an accomplished detailer.

Flex 3401 or cheaper DA and Meguiars MF system?

If you did not have a buffer and had to choose between the Flex 3401 and a few foam pads or a cheaper DA and the Meguiars MF system, which would you get and why?

First Tattoo...Questions to Ask, Thinks to Know???

If you are considering a career such as law enforcement or even something like a cashier at Walmart (two of many) be aware that there are policies against tattoos that show from under the uniform. You have to think about any future careers that you may desire. If your heart is not set on a...

Using a Porter Cable 7424xp to wax wood furniture

I read somewhere, that many of these DA polishers - such as the PC - are currently used in the furniture industry. That being said, I see no reason why they would not work as intended, as long as the proper pad / product combination is used.

Stains at the waterline on fiberglass boat

Thank you for the product recommendations. Yes, I sprayed the boat down with degreaser. It removed some of the staining, but not all of it. The boat is kept in fresh water and is not bottom painted. The boat is a 1987 Crestliner Nordic. The staining was not visible when we bought the boat 1...

Stains at the waterline on fiberglass boat

I know this is not an auto detailing question per se, but does anyone have any suggestions on how to remove stains at the waterline from the gel coat of a fiberglass boat?
