Hard clear, soft clear, what is the difference and how to spot?

I see. Thanks for your response, this clears it up for me! I really thought it was physically harder or softer to the touch!

Hard clear, soft clear, what is the difference and how to spot?

Hey all, I've noticed in a LOT of the polishing threads the mention of whether clear is "soft" or "hard." What exactly does this mean for polishing, and also, if you don't have one of those fancy clear coat readers, can you tell just by eyeballing the paint? Sorry if its a repost. John

How To: Clean Your Wheels and Tires

Awesome write up. As for when to clean wheels... I do mine first, then when they are all done, I throw a towel over the wheel to protect it from water/clay lube/wax/etc. Shawn, thanks for showing the example on chrome wheels. My fiance's car needs claying and a sealant BADLY and this really...

    Wheel confusion!!

Thanks all for the comments. I think I'll get the DP for the wheel glaze and Klasse AIO for the exhaust and chrome wheels.

    Newbie Leather Treatment question

I agree with them as well. I remember when I used to go for the shiny stuff in all aspects. My prime example is OTC tire shine (Black Magic). I spent 3 hours cleaning my fiance's yellow car and put on some shiny tire wet... After ONE drive. Yeah, it was slung everywhere. Now I'm all on...

    Wheel confusion!!

Okay, I think I nearly have all my bases covered for a basic wash/wax detail, but I need some little things to top it all off. The main thing for me is wheel wax or sealant, as well as polishing from chrome and other metals. I have read a couple of members recommend Klasse AIO for metal...

The GG polisher is as good as the 3401?

Thanks for the comments everyone. I think I will go with the GG after everyone's input. Right now, something really is better than nothing. I do plan on adding more advanced buffers as time goes on though! Shelby, I do have a 10" AZ buffer. I used it on my car ONE time. I never want to use...

The GG polisher is as good as the 3401?

My goodness...What a thread! I'm reading everyone's reviews and opinions and what I do know is this: The Flex is a great DA Polisher/Buffer, costs more, but has less vibrations, and doesn't slow down. The GG is a great DA Polisher/Buffer, but costs a lot less. What my struggle is this: I'm...

    ONR QD/Clay Lube question

I actually was using Mother's QD for awhile, then I ran out during a detail, so I mixed some ONR in a 22oz spray bottle (I actually used the QD bottle) and completed the detail. The ONR actually worked better!
