Glass polishing: Am I ready to go into the abyss?

Hey everyone, just wanted to make sure I have everything together for what I'm about to do. That's right, I'm going to polish my windshield (my back hurts just thinking about it!) My 2007 Volvo S40's windshield has become increasingly worse since I purchased it. I tried to do the insurance...

    That's a good idea I hadn't considered. I'll look into that

Help me with my bucket list. Only storage space I have is a 5gal bucket!

I'm a medical student and I'll be in small apartments or living on the road for the next 2 years for my rotations. Due to VERY limited storage space, I'm trying to assemble a kit for coin operated maintenance washes that will fit into a 5 gallon wash bucket. Right now my bucket list is as...

    Can these headlights be restored?

What kind of car is it? Might be time to throw in the towel and get some from the junk yard or ebay. I'm not a pro but it doesn't look like oxidation or UV damage that those kits are used for. Looks more like pitting in the plastic to me.

    Easy $1 DIY grit guard

I hear ya! :iagree: I was going to throw these things out and I needed grit guards. I figured I'd give it a shot and share my idea with the community. I'll still probably buy one eventually because the slits are a little too wide. (That's what she said?) I think the best thing is the...

    Easy $1 DIY grit guard

Thank you! I was thinking about running split hosing or tubing around the grate so it's snug against the bucket. I like that it's collapsible for easy storage

Will wolfgang swirl remover be enough?

That's a great point. Perhaps I should re-assess my approach and consider a touch up or using a glaze to "fill instead of kill" the scratches.

    Easy $1 DIY grit guard

Glad ya'll like it! I'll come back and review it after I've used it once or twice. I bet if companies made the stands collapsible they could ship them in flat envelopes which would decrease the prices big time. I'd design and sell them myself but the patent is ridiculously broad.

Will wolfgang swirl remover be enough?

Do you think a stronger cutting compound would do it?

Will wolfgang swirl remover be enough?

I'm going to be trying to correct some minor scratches on a silver 2007 Volvo next week. My only polishing product is Wolfgang 3.0 Swirl Remover. I'm using a Porter-Cable DA and have Orange, White, and Gray 5.5" CCS pads. Basically, I don't want to approach the project without the proper...

    Easy $1 DIY grit guard

Hit my budget early this year with detailing supplies and needed a grit guard for my rinse bucket. I had 2 of these drying racks from the dollar store that I no longer use: Using medical shears and eyeballing the cuts I did the following: Bottom of drying rack -> grate. Pan under the drying...

Brush attachment on plastic trim/ tires?

Thanks! My brush attachment is at least an inch larger and a lot softer than the one he used. Its made for upholstery so its slightly longer and softer. I'll give it a try on the trim.

Brush attachment on plastic trim/ tires?

Would it be a bad idea to use a soft-bristled brush attachment on my porter cable for plastic trim? I scrub the trim by hand 2-3 times a year using Mother's trim cleaner and I'd like to speed up the process. Could I use the same technique for my tires with an APC/degreaser? Thank you! Phish

    Marketing

For me, the best marketing is my own car. I keep it PERFECT and use high gloss everything on it to make it stand out. I tape a small sign with my phone number and company on it. I park it in easy to see places at the country club I work at. Works every time...

Microfiber Care Guide by Liquid Finish: How to Clean Your Car Microfibers!

Extra wash mitts would be a good idea. I'm just starting my microfiber collection so I'm limited on $$$. I just got a new "microfiber kit" with different weaves for drying, glass, etc. I washed them all last night and decided to throw my wash mitt in there too. It came with a wheel thing like...
