I wear my ring when I detail. When is my bare hand ever going to come in contact with the paint? There is always either a wash mitt, clay bar, towel, or buffer between me and the paint.

I think that factor may have a lot to do with how the products reacted.

It does depend on the type and condition of the paint. I have compounded anywhere from 800rpm to 2000rpm with a wool pad. Generally things usually stay between 1400-1800, but it does all depend on what you are working on.

Your pads will get clogged more frequently with this method. However a quick brushing or air cleaning should help. I use a rotary so the KB method don't really apply, but I still use 6-8 pads per car for compounding. It may be overkill, but I like a clean pad for every large panel. One for...

I can't imagine it's normal, but I'm sure they will fix it for you. I was thinking maybe it was older stock, but obviously by the sticker on the bottom that isn't the case. Either way I'm sure they will get it resolved for you.
