There is no BEST anything out there. There are tons of good products that all give great results. My favorite drying towel right now is the Pakshak WW drying towel.

    Dealership discount?

Good luck convincing a used car manager of that. Our used car guy wouldn't buy tires or brakes unless it didn't pass inspection, let alone spend big money on a detail. And that's not uncommon in the dealership world. Not to mention you have to deal with scumbags everyday. Sent from my DROID2...

    Dealership discount?

Generally dealerships are already only willing to pay a very low price. Giving them anymore discount may cut all of your profits. I remember at one I worked at they were paying this poor guy $25 per car to wash, glaze, wax and interior. Now he is a moron for going along with it, but still...

Advice on this rim job :)

Most rim repair companies are pretty cheap too. I would check a local dealership and see who they use since most dealers have a wheel repair guy. but don't google rim job....

    Dry Wash or Polishing Quiz....

I believe Misha is refering to the drywash pictures. There are som of us that just aren't convinced that you can "dry wash" vehicles that dirty without instilling some marring.

    Dry Wash or Polishing Quiz....

None of these pictures have any sun shots, there is no way to tell what condition the paint is in. I can go take a picture my work truck which is swirled to hell, but at the right angle it will look just like these. When it comes to paint correction or the condition of the paint reflection...

Buying, polishing, and reselling aluminum rims...

I used to do this, but never with polishing wheels, more just fixing/repainting curbed wheels. Polishing aluminum is a pain in the ass depedning on how bad the wheels are. But if you have a good system, I see how you could make some money doing it. Please be sure to post up your results! :props:

starting detailing for money, some questions

I work out of my personal vehicle, it's a bit biger than a convertible, but when I go do a mobile job I have magnetic signs with my business logo on them I can put on. I can't justify the cost to have a dedicated mobile detail rig. Also what sort of insurance are you refering to? For dirving...

OVERATED: Which Products In Your Opinion?

not to mention he flat out said he was a britemax dealer. This guy is a joke. I'm all for trying new products, but he obviously has an agenda. I never trust the opinions of people selling products. Just my .02

    Can you clay your exhaust?

I very rarely have to grab the steelwool. usually I just use an old MF towel and some good metal polish and they clean right up. I have used clay in the past before a polish to remove stuborn particles or tar or dirt.

Is pre-wash required before using Pinnacle?

Remove what other product? Like another wax or sealant? You don't need to, but if you want to use only the Pinnacle stuff and not have any of the old stuff left on the car it would be a good idea to strip the old LSP. You can do this many ways. There is a lot of information about stripping...

starting detailing for money, some questions

You would be hard pressed to offend me, but thank you. I'm not so paranoid that I won't let someone drop off at my house, especialy since most of my business is from referals. It just makes me feel better. I don't have my address listed on my website mostly because I don't want people just...

OVERATED: Which Products In Your Opinion?

LMFAO, I love how you call me bud, considering you don't even know me. I also love how you assume that I am full of sh*t... I have tried ALL of the products Britemax has to offer, and while none of them are bad, or don't work I would never PAY for them. I didn't find that I had a need for...

starting detailing for money, some questions

First I personally think that having your own water tank and generator is overkill, at least for most detailers. Unless you are going to a business to detail, which from my research a lot of businesses don't want to let you do this, there is just no need. I don't do a ton of mobile work, but I...

    Stripping the wax? Necessary?

Very well said, and thank you for understanding my point! It is good to know that you are always looking to learn more as should all of us. Thanks. :props:

    Stripping the wax? Necessary?

I would say it depends what your goal is and what condition your paint is in. If your only goal is to wax the car and you don't need to do any correction or polishing, a wipe down with IPA or your cleaner would work just fine. Or you could presoak your car with APC (TAW, OPC, APC+) and let it...
