Can ONR really be used WITHOUT causing marring on black paint?

I think that ONR is the same as using any other car wash soap. It's not the bubbles that make your car clean and safe from marring, it's the media used and the lubricity of the wash. ONR doesn't make bubbles, this makes some people think it won't be as good. I've never used anything but ONR to...

    Sealant choice

If you're applying collinite by machine, then remove by machine. If by hand, make sure you apply SUPER thin, I didn't do this and that's why I had such a problem. I wouldn't personally top 476 with 915 or any other wax, if anything a second layer of 476 would ensure proper coverage I guess. 476...

Best towels to use for a waterless wash?

the deeper the nap the better. I think you might not want one that is as large as a drying towel, but get a 16x16 or a little bigger so you dont have a huge thick MF to deal with as you wipe the car down.

    Sealant choice

I personally am using Collinite 476s on my United Gray Metallic GTI. I think it may not be technically a sealant but I do know it is cheap. My vehicle right now is under a few feet of snow and the water on the paint has been beading tight all day long as the snow melts off and the car hasn't...

    Post your spring detailing process!

As of right now my plan is 1. Wash with ONR 2. Clay entire car 3. ColorX 4. NXT 2.0 x2 5. Meguiars UQW 6. Meguiars Hot Shine tire foam If I had a house and a garage I'd probably go with a much more thorough detailing, but I am doing all my detailing in an apartment parking lot with no shade...

DG 105 the most durable *sealant*?

If you'll be applying a new coat each month or so then use any sealant they all last at least that long. But if you want a sealant you can apply and let go for months without even topping it with another coat or a QD/spray wax then Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection, Chemical Guys: M-Seal, Jetseal...

    $125 wax. What for??

there are expensive waxes just like there are expensive cars. Some expensive cars perform much better than inexpensive cars, and some inexpensive cars perform as well or better than expensive cars. I personally use inexpensive wax products but I always read about and would like to try these...

long term durability study: Megs cleaner wax with Collinite 476s VS. Zaino ZAIO with Z3

this is a great test. The last time my 2008 GTI was detailed was in september 2009. Washed it with ONR, Clayed, ColorX, Collinite 476s. I haven't washed it a single time since then. As of right now, my vehicle which remains parked in an apartment parking lot M-F without being driven still beads...
