Daily driver truck. This is after a 35 mile interstate drive on the way in to work. Got a bug or two on the front. A partially cloudy Monday morning. Truck had been cleaned Saturday and was wearing Griot's Ceramic Speed Shine.

I did read up a bit more on the "new" can coat evo. Went ahead and ordered a can of it and some Gyeon prep.

The Can Coat Evo does look intriguing, as does the Megs HPC. I'll probably use up the 3 in 1 first.

The pre-wash for me, will be from character line down, basically just the lower panels. This helps (at least me) get that grit and contamination off those areas and soften it up so the hand wash gets it all off. The regular shampoo's I use won't always get all that stuff. I want as much off...

I'd try a test spot out with a good strong apc and a soft detailing brush (like the kind used to detail around emblems etc). See what happens.

EVO - FYI even on the Griots sight they will tell you to wash with another one of their soaps first, before using wash and coat, if the car is very dirty. As you note , and I agree, that agitation does have a bit to do with cleaning, the lubricity is not there on that soap to where you can...

I've read, but can't confirm from personal use, that many of the ceramic infused soaps like Griot's wash and coat, HS ceramic wash, have diminished cleaning power.

Like Evo77 I think it would make sense to use the speed shine ceramic on the 3 in 1 cars as well. I actually put 2 coats of 3 in 1 on my truck this weekend, then went to autozone today and got the ceramic spped shine. Probably be 2 or 3 weeks before I try it however.

Looks like your method works for you on that car and that paint. No reason you couldnt keep it up, but if you see scratching or marring then go back to the "bucket method".

Matador - People all the time talk about a spray down with p21 TAW prior to, or in addition to the standard wash. I wouldnt add apc to every wash, but once a qtr or so, or before doing a re-coat, a re-seal, re-wax would be fine IMO.
