Recommended starter, combo kit for beginner

You could try calling customer service see if they can throw something together for you if you don't like the polishes. I think the gg6 with the griots boss pads and creams is a serious combo. Also the McKees line is getting very good reviews and are usually priced pretty fair. Not the exact...

    So many questions

You have many sound pieces of advise but I will add that if you can try them before you buy and see what's suits you that's the winner to me. I am blown away with the griots boss line from machine to pads down to the creams, seriously top notch stuff and underrated by many. The creams are very...

    Gtechniq W4 vs W5?

The bottle comes with dilution ratios on the back of it. As far as the process I will pressure wash with water if the vehicle is very dirty, if it's just typical road grime then I will not use the pressure wash pre rinse. After I'm ready to start I use waterless ratio as a pre rinse and I do one...

    Gtechniq W4 vs W5?

Check out the new McKees n914 rinseless wash. It leaves nothing behind so your coating will remain untouched but be squeaky clean. Rinseless is awesome for your situation. Buy some distilled water from the store as well and you will be happy.

    rupes abrasive technology???

The griots boss do not break down like diminishing you are correct. This is a beautiful thing when you are compounding as you always have full cut through your entire pass. Diminishing finish really well due to the abrasives breaking down finer as they go, however the griots creams finish down...

how much would you charge???? just curious

I charge my coworkers 120-150 depending on size of the vehicle and if it's leather or not. I do a full detail no engines however. I use a wax or sealant whichever they like more. I try to do monthly washes for 30 bucks that covers the exterior being redone and using a spray sealant or wax...

BOSS 21 or Rupes 21 MkII

Both are great machines that will produce more than adequate results. There are differences like you mention in the ergonomics and I suggest you hold and use both if you have the opportunity. The rupes makes it vs griots doesn't isn't a huge issue to me personally due to the lifetime warranty...

    New coatings?

The g techniq line of csl and exo on top produces some stellar results. It's not the cost effective way but folks speak highly of it. I'll be doing my wife's in the spring with this combo

    The BOSS 21"

No the long throw machines use a 5 or 6 size bp. Due to the increased throw etc it wouldn't be recommended to attempt such a thing. The rules mini is a 3in unit with a sizable 12mm of throw however. Griots makes a 3in polisher but the throw is 8mm and lacks the power of the rupes

    Pressure washer vs. Regular sprayer

It def depends on the skin of the individual. But I have seen a low pressure paint system create a small pin hole on a palm but the thumb is blown out on the end of the hand. The paint went around the bone following the path of least resistance. He now is 2 fingers less of a left hand. Most of...

    Pressure washer vs. Regular sprayer

It always makes me cringe when ppl talk about spraying their hands with a pw. It only takes 100 psi to break the skin. I have seen painters with the spray guns that accidentally hit their palm not the wall and have paint ejected through the end of their thumb. It's a painful looking injury and...

    Polishing the beater

This was the first full car I ever polished. It was just some basic wash marring and minor swirls nothing to serious. I used adams brilliant glaze, pinnacle black label sealant, and Adams patriot wax as the lsp. I am using griots poly wax currently on it with solid results. I am planning on...

    Polishing the beater

I am a noob no doubt. I got my g15 kit last year and did my wife's car with it after I practiced on a junkyard hood a few times. I have done some basic scratch removal with it but no major jobs. I wish I could find folks around the area that are willing to compensate for the work involved as I...

    Polishing the beater

Thanks for the kind words. It really shows how effective the new griots boss creams and pads are. The fast correcting cream left almost the exact same finish as the perfecting cream. If anyone has yet to try FCC do yourself a huge favor and click buy now it is truly a top notch product. I only...

    Polishing the beater

I will post some shots of the hood in the sun if it shows up finally. I am not sure I will polish the entire car as it just gets me from work and back. Maybe if I stay bored I will slowly work my way around it one day
