    Late n00b introduction

Hello, everyone! My name's Hassan. I interest in detailing started over 10 years ago when I got my White Diamond Pearl 2002 Acura TL-S and wanted to take care of it myself. It started out as a casual hobby and it's pretty well spiraled into an addiction. I recently started my own business, BMF...

A spray wax that beads well

It was CEE DOG's amazing review in this thread that pushed me toward Optimum. :props: EDIT: He also tests Duragloss, Pinnacle, and Meg's

A spray wax that beads well

On the bottle it says to "remove excess water" before applying the wax so I'm assuming no. But maybe someone else can chime in to confirm?

    Sunday detail on 2003 Accord

I spent this entire Sunday on my friend's 03 Accord coupe; most of that time was just on the interior, which needed some serious TLC. There was a lot of dirt and dust because he's driving around every day with this car (the car has 190,000 miles on it) and he pretty well lives in it. Interior...

how long do you take? (clay, polish, wax)

Wow, this thread makes me feel really slow. I spent 2 hours claying my car but that's likely due to the fact that I've been negligent on doing that (around 5 years). How many pads are you guys typically going through in a polishing step?

I can't get the scratches out of my paint

Thanks. :) And I'm seriously considering his book...it would be easier to have it on hand than running back inside to the computer, hahaha.

Got burned by my Mytee lite II

+1 on almost getting burned on the fittings. Hell, even the rubber line leading up to the sprayer gets pretty hot.

A spray wax that beads well

+1 for Optimum Car Wax I just applied OCW to my car this Saturday and my friend's car yesterday and I'm pretty happy at how well they beaded last night in the rain.

That's almost exactly the rotational speed I got the GG6 down to on speed 5. Your videos are a godsend, Mike. Thanks :dblthumb2:

    LC Flat pad problem?

I guess I should invest in more pads. Today I really felt like 2 pads aren't enough. Now the question is should I get more LC flat pads or just go to Optimum's microfibre pads?

    LC Flat pad problem?

Maybe that's what happened with me?

    LC Flat pad problem?

I did :) And my orange pads have a black Velcro...don't HT pads have white Velcro on the back?

    LC Flat pad problem?

Oh ok. Thanks, Ryan. They're actually more orange in person. The camera didn't do a very good job of capturing the color.

I can't get the scratches out of my paint

    1. They're 5.5" LC Orange Flat pads 2. I was working too fast before but I tried to match Mike's arm speed on the "swirl removal" video he did with the black Lexus 3. I was working too large an area before and now I've cut it down to around 20" x 20". The hood was impossible to get into perfect...
