Automatic Car Washes when Hand Washing isn't an Option?

I would endure slow torture, rather than see my Sapphire blue XK-R go through a C W, or any of my show cars which are black.

Automatic Car Washes when Hand Washing isn't an Option?

I have pic after pic I can show you....but the bottom line is a CW will rip your finish to shreds. Correction is never easy after you subject the finish to this cannibalism....there is no other way to state it. In fact that may be understated and its a shame. because people ask me continually...

Automatic Car Washes when Hand Washing isn't an Option?

How you wash the car is the key to keeping it nice. We all do something different in this realm. I for one never wash my show cars with water. My daily driver will NEVER see the inside of a sand-wash if you will. I am dead serious. In the last 40 years I have seen despicable damage done at a CW...

Black Label surface coating, what's going on here?

Over the long haul the sealed car will retain less dirt and appear cleaner than a waxed vehicle. That has been my finding on my daily driver and well worth the effort. I have many coats of the detailers pro on my wife's car also. She also notices, it simply gets LESS dirty. To me that is worth...

Black Label surface coating, what's going on here?

When the vehicle cooled it began to condensate....normal. Likely the sealer lifted a bit prior to setting up. Nothing a damp cloth and the flat of your hand would not resolve. Sealers are much different than waxes. I learned that in VERY short order. The advantages I see are that they are mostly...

New guy here with a question on no rinse wash.

Much things related to labor have not changed in detailing. You must follow the process of a thorough wipedown for the vehicle to look its best after any wash.

New guy here with a question on no rinse wash.

My comment on leaving water on your car or any car. DONT do it your inviting water spots and possible etching, if the sun dries it. If you DONT have time to wash and DRY your car then dont do either. Some of my clients drip dry their cars and after six months of that they are a mess.

Is my opticoat 2.0 application holding ? 45 days after...

Like I said...I guess I am just old fashioned. Its OK on an old finish. I wouldnt put it on a new car. Or anything dear to me. It might be good to disguise imperfections, it may even have a marketable place in the "detail" world. I tell my customers theres only one way to care for your car. That...

Is my opticoat 2.0 application holding ? 45 days after...

I have shelves full of coatings and sealants. Every Spring I toss them into the round file. I often reflect on the money I wasted in undelivered promises of these products. Nevertheless as ineffective as they are, the round file is where they belong. My clients mean too much to me to use some...

Is my opticoat 2.0 application holding ? 45 days after...

I am COMPLETELY SKEPTICAL about any product that is claimed to last forever. I am sorry, with all due respect, I dont believe it. There are no short cuts to having a STUNNING optically perfect paint surface. I would NOT use this OC on a car worth more than say 3500 dollars. I dont care what...

plastic bumper tear and rip advice

They are always a shade or two off. Hard to get smooth. Just my take on things. I confess I have seen some good work on touch-ups on this site.

plastic bumper tear and rip advice

I know some people touch up and sand.....BUT your car looks nice. Keep it that way. This procedure is NOT for newbies. In fact I have been doing this over forty years. These touch-ups rarely look OK. BUT ALL THE BEST!

You actually need a body shop if you want it perfect. No touch-up is going to ever look perfect. Good Luck!

Is anyone out there like me as far as rubbing on their cars alot?

Cover your cars in the garage. Keeps the perfection in the finish. You dont need vermin dying on the hood. Two of my cars are black. They are covered.
