Love the meguiars brand, but maybe want to try some new correction fluids

+1 for the 3d HD line. The cost is amazing and I have been hearing good things about their products. I might try some myself.

Thinking about trading in the CR-Z for a Fiat 500 Abarth, thoughts?

On my daily driver I run cheap Mastercraft 440's year round! They do the job.

Thinking about trading in the CR-Z for a Fiat 500 Abarth, thoughts?

No, I have never seen one before. I live in Oregon and everyone here drives a Subaru or a jacked up diesel truck. (An exaggeration of course!) But yea, I have seen a few Fiat's (No Abarth's) around town but they aren't very popular out here. It rains, rains, rains all the time so people here...

    Interior cleaning and dressing

Meg's QID is a really great product. I always have some on hand. I think some detailers look past it, opting for an APC and come back over everything with a dressing. For newer interiors it gives that factory fresh OEM look alot of people are after. On a neglected interior that has some years...

Thinking about trading in the CR-Z for a Fiat 500 Abarth, thoughts?

That sounds like fun. Kind of like an Italian Mini Cooper! And 157 HP per liter of displacement! Damn! That is efficiency.

    Interior cleaning and dressing

Meg's QID cleans and protects. That is what it does. It isn't a dressing in the typical sense as it pertains to this forum. It may have a light conditioner in it, as I would suspect it does, but I haven't checked.

    Meguiars ultimate compound

Meg's Ultimate Compound gives a decent cut and a good finish. If I was to judge OTC compounds based strictly on performance, Megs UC would be the top choice. Plastx is really good too on headlights, and in my experience, works well on light oxidation. (It is supposed to have some UV protection...

    Degreaser

Optimum power clean slays grease and works wonders on just about anything that's dirty you would rather have clean. Safe on paint too. People say it's pricey, which it is, but it really kicks butt.

Thanks for sharing your method. It does seem very easy and great results can be attained. I have always dreaded doing glass. Lots of microfibers and Sprayway.

    Carbon Fiber parts

Carbon fibre hoods, door panels, etc are usually combined with an epoxy resin or a plastic polymer to hold their shape. A clear coat is then added to the top of that to protect it. I would follow the least agressive method of polishing first... Just like you would on the clear coat over basecoat...

    Polisher question

I sometimes use the HF DA. It comes with a 6" plate. Just buy it then get a new backing plate of any size up to 6" you want to run with. That's what I did. You are not locked in to using a 6" plate just because it's sold as a 6".

What are these dry hazy spots on paint?

Looks like chemical contamination. Maybe polish, compound, or wax. I can see what looks to me like buffer trails across the affected areas. Try hitting it with a paint friendly cleaner first.
