    105 / 205 = wow

TXZ0603--my guess is that you might have used too much product..did not clean your pad sufficiently..or " spritz " it with water just to help keep it working longer/better..or a combo of the above. I have learned that Less is sometimes better when it comes to 105/205

MF Finishing Wax And Finishing Disc?

Mark..just prime you pad..a little goes a long way..and you can move the machine a lot faster than with the compound since the finishing wax has oils in it but it does have a mild "finishing" cut to it as well...so just keep pad flat and CLEAN! Does a great job. Clean for two reasons: obviously...

    mf towels

Could be my bad..because I do not dry them on extra low heat...I just know they scratched the surface when I used them after a few times.

"BEST MACHINE" to purchase for hobbyist

ditto what Dr.Oldz said..although in my opinion..for as many cars as you have..the Flex is the most bulletproof.

    regular microfibers vs waffle weave

I may be wrong here..I think it is "safe" to do..but I think a waffle weave is specifically designed to "absorb" more than it is to "clean". Usually you use a waffle weave after you have a "just washed" surface...and a thicker plush MF towel should be used in conjunction with a quick detailer...

    mf towels

STAY AWAY from Sams Pro Force for doing any polishing/removal of products (polish/sealers/wax/ or even quick detailers)...they are good for door jambs, under the hood, trunk..etc.. They lose their "plushness" very quickly and especially after being washed a few times. They WILL induce scratches...

    Do you wash cars differently?

yes I would wash them different..because you said you were going to buff out the ranchero...so..typical wash/dry for the vette...and I would use some type of APC or dawn or the like mixed with the wash soap to remove all wax residue and/or to get the surface as clean as possible before polishing.

I no longer use tire dressing on my car...

:doh::doh::doh::doh::xyxthumbs:I no longer use tire dressing on my car.. Mark..you are a great detailer...but I think I know what your problem is...you are supposed to use tire dressing on your TIRES...NOT your car!!!

    How good is good enough?

I don't concern myself too much about perfection and 100%..I do know that it is "time" based for me. I know the more time I have the better job I can do..but I just try to do the best I can with the time I have...but the most important thing to me..is to always keep it fun and enjoyable.

Dwayne..Rog down here in SA..and want to say that while it will be trying at times to care for your father..and will be stressful on your family..I can tell you from my experiences (as you know I take care of two handicapped parents)..it is by far the hardest thing you will probably have to...

Ultima Tire & Trim Guard Plus Question

I may be wrong here...but I usually think that the labels indicate what is and is not safe. On the label it specifically says "for exterior use only"..I am guessing because it does have a strong smell.. that it is either a "unpleasant" odor that they do not think customers would like to deal...

Kristopher..I have been using a product from Autoglym called Custom Wheel Cleaner..and man does it work! I bought it in a 5 litre jug..but it is pricey and HARD to come across. For the money..and your needs..the Griots HD sounds like the way to go. Very positive things said with this product and...

Autogeek first purchase experience- far less than stellar

First off..I have ordered ALOT of stuff thru AG..and anytime I have had issues big or small..they always work on them till they get resolved. I KNOW not everyone has been so lucky to get something out of a box and never had an issue with it..either by not being familiar with it or getting an...

Ultima Tire & Trim Guard Plus Question

I will be curious to see what others "chime" in with...but seems to me that any good all purpose cleaner should do the trick in breaking down the excess product left on the pad. What I do is clean it.but you don't have to go crazy on it because I have several foam or microfiber pads that are...

Dwayne @ Autogeek will be missed!

Is it just me..or...while every person at AG is helpful...Dwayne always made it seem like he was really excited to talk to you..he always made me feel like he had not talked to me in a million years..and wanted to re connect. He never "hurried" to get me off the line..and it was never "BAU" to...
