Man..this is getting way off the original post..Mark was only intending to give pros and cons..did not push technique or machines one way or the other. As we know there are good points and bad with each machine and process and no ONE process/machine is the "end all" to any post. It goes back to...

The reason it has so much cut to it is because of the fact that the pad "spins" in one direction..and the "orbit" spins in the other...one ccw and the other cw. I believe that that also helps it with cutting down on the vibrations.

Glaze is like a glazed doughnut..put it on for shine and looks pretty for a little while..come back later and it "runs" off... Glaze is only short term bling..and fills in and adds depth of color with its oils and fillers. It has its place..like every other car product.

Optimum gets my vote..and I totally agree with "Bunky" in that it does go on better/even with an applicator as opposed to just spraying it on the surface.

shorter hook and loops on the DA system/backing plate is why it really only works well with the cutting and finishing pads. I think the whole line of MEGS pads works OK with the backing plate.

dusting..probably heat issues..I always remove any polish/compounds and even sealers with a spritz of distilled water. I also usually "dampen" my mf towel first to help keep everything on the surface moist and cut down on the most amount of friction.

Mark..what ever happened to the pads/105 experiment? I think it has kinda been proven here that the Megs DA system is really best when used with a PC/MEGS/GRIOTS DA polisher...but not the flex. Even when it was "sent" out to selected few detailers..the system did not finish down well with the...

To "add" to the original question..(as I just ordered my flex during the MD sale) because of the extra "power" that the flex direct drive has: when it comes to pads is it best to use the thicker pads or does it have a better operator "feel" using thinner pads ie..hydrotech pads? as it has enough...

usually..any holograms/hazing can be taken out using a quality finishing or micro polish.

I am sure it would look "good"..but maybe Mike can confirm..I don't think the sealer would have the ideal "bond" it it is not on a metal surface..Just my opinion.
