Advance Auto on carpenter road has a griots garage display with various items, wash mitt, microfiber towels

I have an audi a4 and am a newbie as well. After a lot of reading I went with the Menzerna line (FG400 with cyan cutting pad) over the meguiars and had great results. I recently ordered SF4000 but have not tried it yet. I did not find Ultimate Compound worked for me on my test spot.

I don't think you understand how to use the waterless wash. You don't put it in a spray gun. Lots of threads with good info on waterless washes.

If you are going to polish out the car, it is easier to just use an IPA/Eraser/Griots pre-wax wipe down prior to wax/sealant.

damn, $40 an ounce vs. $1 an ounce for griots, hope it is really good stuff.

I picked up the griots glass sealant, waiting for a chunk of time to polish and seal mine. I normally just use the rain-x washer fluid which works surprisingly well.

I could have sworn last week you were telling everyone to wet sand their cars :P

The irony there is that ONR is leaving something behind no? Isnt the point to get it as clean as possible before applying a sealant/coating/etc?

I am not in the detailing business, purely a new hobby for me. But clearly the bang for your buck value is in the meguairs detail line. Assuming you had nothing, you could put out quality work for under $300. D120 for glass: $18 D151 for your 1-steps: $37 D103 for APC: $16 M205 polish : $28...
