    What's your Day Job?

I go to school full time! Fall, spring, and summer. I know all the suckiness right now will pay off in the end, though. I got into what I thought was detailing a few years ago, then found this site a few months ago and that's when my "problem" really started!

    Mobile Detailing in Rain

I'm looking into offering the waterless wash, but the issue still arises that some people use their garages as storage rather than for their cars. I don't mind washing in the rain. Luckily the storms only last about 30 minutes to an hour.

    Mobile Detailing in Rain

Hey everyone! I've started a small mobile detailing company for extra college money and have done a few cars for friends of my parents. Before I start the larger marketing, how do I deal with the rain? Florida natives know that Summer afternoons are almost a guaranteed storm. For those with...

Dropped Wax:( Should I Go Ahead And Toss It?

I was doing just a little waxing on my sister's car and accidentally dropped it...into some dirt...along with the applicator. Should I just scrape the stuff off the top and keep using it or go ahead and get some different wax? It's just Meguiars Ultimate wax so it's not any high dollar wax.

    As good as it gets?

Thanks for all the replies! While I was outting the wax on, my led shop light was in the perfect position for me to see long scratches down the length of the car. Turns out the "flawless paint" has been tarnished from the bushes down the side of the driveway. They are bothering me, but my...

    As good as it gets?

My parents got a new car, so naturally I wanted to "play" with it. From the equipment I have at my disposal, the paint looks factory flawless (which was surprising) and this was the product of what I did (wash, clay, wax). Would a car without swirls or anything benefit from 1 step polishing? I...

Should I Worry About RIDS At My Price Level?

Looking on your website, random deep marring is exactly what the scratches look like. I'm going to get a few clients under my belt and move on from there.

Should I Worry About RIDS At My Price Level?

That's why I say I'm going to take some pictures tomorrow and make sure that it is RIDS and not just light scratches that my pad will not remove. I've already been looking at microfiber pads. They seem quite light to be actual scratches.

Should I Worry About RIDS At My Price Level?

I'll take a couple pictures tomorrow when the sun is overhead to confirm my thoughts.

Should I Worry About RIDS At My Price Level?

That is what I was thinking. I don't want to do anything too intrusive without insurance. It turns more from a minor paint correction to bodywork. Thanks!

Should I Worry About RIDS At My Price Level?

I got my PC a few days ago, and I've been practicing. The family car that has been to hell and back is my most recent practice vehicle. I was doing the trunk lid, removed all of the swirls with the m105/orange and m205/white but there are a ton of RIDS...probably from my siblings using it as a...

    2 Step Correction (M105/M205) Question

Thanks! And while on the subject, how similar is it detailing and buffing boats to cars? Being in central Florida, less than a quarter mile away from a big lake, there are a large number of boats.

    2 Step Correction (M105/M205) Question

Hello, When doing a 2 step correction, is it the general practice to do the whole first step major correction across the whole vehicle then do the polishing stage, or do you do the complete correction one panel at a time?

    Dealership Detailer hourly rate??

A few years ago, at the ripe age of 16 (before I really knew what I could do to a car), I applied at the local Ford place. They ended up offering me a job but I didn't like the (low) quality of their operation, so I worked for a few years at the family business. Now, a few years later, with a...

    35 Word Mobile Detailing Ad?

Thanks! Once I get some clients, I will be able to spread more by word of mouth. I have a lot of confidence in my detailing ability, but communicating that can be difficult. Since I'm trying to get my foot in the door, I'm priced low (comes to about $20 an hour).

Hey everyone! How would you write a 35 word max ad for mobile detailing? The community newsletter I will be advertising in has a 35 word max. Thanks!

Rant: Body shop kindly washed my car...

When my parents bought their new car from Ford, it was completely covered with pollen. When the dealer washed it and and they brought it home I, of course, had to check it. 99% flawless paint (although it was metallic and can sometimes be hard to tell), except for the black plastic trim on the...
