    Exterior Vinyl Wrap care?

Did a quick search and see that this is a relatively un-discussed topic. In recent years the vinyl wrap films have become immensely more popular. From matte finish to Carbon Fiber style, films are showing up on the interior and exterior of just about every make and model. In addition, there's...

    Jumbo's Engine Bay

lol, yeah thanks! It's unique for sure. Most people don't realize it's not factory when they see it. Still plenty of plans though. Black mesh 22" wheels with polished lip, painting all the grey body trim to match the body, black out the two front grills and new tint on the front windows (to...

Review: Pinnacle XMT Polishing Pad Cleaner

I would think this is quite dangerous - unless you are SURE you have rinsed out all the pad cleaner before applying more polish and continuing to use the pad. leaving a solvent in/on the pad with the polish probably doesn't do good things for it's application, depending on the product. Mike's...

    Post Your Unpacking Pictures

I use this thread to see what is popular, then usually try to score a free sample of those items before purchasing. So far that's how I have tried Pinnacle Souveran, and the Wolfgang twins. The problem is that I make it a point to hit the $50 minimum, just to get the free sample.

    Aww Shucks...Review Time!!!

Reading your review again, I was wondering if it might be better to use the paint prep before clay? Seems the clay might be more effective without having to pick up any wax or LSP, after a wash?

    Styrofoam peanuts

Not sure if I am giving AG too much credit here but after posting in this thread, my next order came without peanuts - and I never changed any preferences online. THAT is service! Unless, of course... AG just ran out of packing peanuts and everybody is getting paper? Either way - I noticed...

Anyone still use LC yellow pads?

I was having problems getting enough cut to take out wet sanding marks on a previously repaired, single stage painted hood. I started with my PC and a LC CCS 5.5" pad and XMT heavy cut - no love. Didn't touch most of the sanding marks. Had to use 3M heavy cut (also does not finish well) with...

Semi-formal Review of XMT 360 Spray Wax

I first read your review when you posted it and I was able to resist buying the product... until today. It was buy one, get one free so it looks like I'll have it for a while. My only other spray wax has been Meguire's ultimate quick spray wax. That stuff smells great but I have never...

Question about using 4inch and 3inch pads with PC

My experience agrees with you! I noticed the larger pads stressed out the PC. When I bought the starter kit, pad size was not recommended. I had just guessed. As a result, the performance of the pad was reduced after a short use (and the PC got hot). They work just fine for shorter periods...

Question about using 4inch and 3inch pads with PC

I actually had this happen, except the backing plate delaminated from the velcro. I was using 7.5" pads on a 6" backing plate, but was doing an SUV with a lot of surface area. What is the solution in this case - give the PC a chance to cool down between panels? Never ever worried about...

I used mine as wetsanding lubrication. Seems to have a bit more lubricity than water and worked just as well if not better.

    Jumbo's Engine Bay

Yes, on BC coilovers, 3 inches lower than stock. Tires are Yokohama parada spec x 255/50/20. You are spot on about the 5AT - even though it's built, above 16psi it starts slipping. 450 is about as much as I would ask for short periods of time but that's me just being conservative. 400 to the...

    Jumbo's Engine Bay

lol, I can see that! Laser Red FXs are rare - only produced in 2003 and 2004. I was told by the dealer there were less than 50 in the country. Not sure if I believe it - I've seen three or four other ones here in Houston and a half dozen in other cities but never found a way to find out...

    Pinstripe eraser

Thanks Opie, I think it's sorted out. Finished up this afternoon and I did go ahead and polish and seal just to protect the paint I uncovered. To get to the pinstripe under the clear bra, I just powered through both. You can see where I stopped removing the clear bra by the corner of the...

    Jumbo's Engine Bay

Thanks - both these posts really helped! I'm going to give it a shot. I've never even considered waxing the paint in the engine bay... till I joined this forum. Now it seems silly I've never done it. Photos of the outside of the car for those that care:
