You should add a heat gun to your list as well. The heat gun works wonder on dried/cracked decals. Roughly $30 from Home Depot.

Are you referring to this Tire? I have them on my Volvo S60 and noticed some white on the sidewalls, and yes the dressing does seem to fade rather quickly compared to my old Firestones.
