Don't shoot me. I've used TW chrome polish on chrome clad wheels to removing staining like you have....washed them Sonax Full effect which did nothing, but then tried this out of curiosity and worked well.

Not sure if all stores still stock Autoglym. Might have to use store locator to check local stock. I had to ship mine to the local store and pickup there. It's free to pickup at the store, however I had to wait a week.
