    Matte black wheels

22ple VM1 will add a light "glow" to matte wheel finishes. Gloss is definitely enhanced, but I see no compatibility issues between VM1 and matte paints. Sent from my DROID4 using Tapatalk 2

    Matte Black Single Stage question

+1 for Swissvax Opaque. I've taken some oily smudges out of matte finish paints with this wax. The level of protection, beading/sheeting and added looks are incredible. The wax leaves an even depth and sheen, without adding any gloss. +1 for CG's Meticulous Matte as well. Great qd with UV...

    Matte Decals and Spoiler

Meticulous Matte is a great qd and protectant booster for those vinyl parts. As for extra protection the only thing that comes to mind is a good "matte" wax such as SwissVax Opaque. That wax has a great protection level on the matte paint and vinyl finishes I've used it on. Sent from my...

    Boat detailing must haves

Sorry my explanation of gelcoat confused you, it did look that I was describing base/clear as such, when I in fact was describing how to test for gelcoat. I'm also speaking from experience about a 51' outerlimits boat with a custom paintjob that utilizes base clear, as well as a ranger bass...

    Boat detailing must haves

Yup, high end boats, bass boats and re-paints are most common to have base/clear. Sent from my DROID4 using Tapatalk 2

    Boat detailing must haves

Gelcoat is color infused topcoating to the fiberglass, it is very hard and requires aggressive diminishing compounds to be used. Base/clear is much more thin and must be treated like a car. Also, a polish like m67 will add oils to the fiberglass, enhancing gloss by conditioning the gelcoat...

    Boat detailing must haves

I've worked on more than 1 base/clear, so just check to see if the owner knows. A good way to check is by taking some rubbing compound on a towel and seeing if color from the gelcoat comes off when you rub the compound on the the spot of color. Sent from my DROID4 using Tapatalk 2

    Boat detailing must haves

Be sure to double check that it is indeed gelcoat and not a basecoat/clearcoat Sent from my DROID4 using Tapatalk 2

Meguiar's 67 one step marine/rv compound. Aggressive enough to remove very heavy oxidation with an orange pad on a d/a. High-tech enough to finish in one step. Sent from my DROID4 using Tapatalk 2

Need some help choosing CG compound(s)

For a 3 step you could also try the Heavy Duty cut compound. It's very aggressive. We use it on an astra d/a for headlight correction. Sent from my DROID4 using Tapatalk 2

Removing hard water spots on Opti-Coat

Yup. You might want to try an extremely light polish by hand, no pressure. IME you can fix imperfections very quickly and easily leaving the oc2 or og in tact. Try 205 or UP on a micro, very light pressure. I know I've been successful in this before because I had cleaned the area after...
