    Strange stain in paint?

Tough to tell via picture, possibly water and or soap dried on surface, water mark, or major bird bomb since rinsed off via rain? Least aggressive option first, so paint cleanser, then polish, then compound only if you must. Try multiple pads as well, same product, more aggressive pad if needed...

New Lexus - anyone know what coating Lexus sells?

Call the dealership and ask them about and clear bras , since you know that is what was applied, the clear bra installer needs to know the extact product on the surface, manufacturer and all. If they confirm that is the product, you know it is a dealer scam, and a well known one. Since this is...

Using M205 and Finish Pad = Cleanser?

Its important if you want the best bond on a new sealant and especially a semi permanent coating. For a coating you want a real polish/correction for gloss anyway. Some of us like trying different LSPs every month or two. Some sealants don't come off that easily...a cleaner is recommended then...

Using M205 and Finish Pad = Cleanser?

Thanks! Anyone know how much...or little...would be needed by M205 on a light cut or no cut pad? 2-3 section passes on speed 3 PC 7424XP enough to remove sealant and leave clear mostly alone? Less/more?

    Products delivered cold

I normally leave everything in my basement, moderate temps (60-75F) so no worries. Left my car shampoo outside in storage this year, and it froze solid. Brought it in, shook it up after it defrosted (seemed thinned), looks good as new after the shake. On the topic of age, I bought some...

Using M205 and Finish Pad = Cleanser?

Polishing removes clear, so paint cleaning lotions and chemical sprays are made to assist in removing prior sealants and waxes. After reading a few threads on removal, it seems some sealants may not come off with Dawn and IPA as previously thought. So, any harm, besides polishing oils behind...

Would you mix? XMT360 and M205

Do you have a test panel (detached from car) or a car no one cares about to test on? I'd do that first, no risk. See how products behave together. The abrasiveness of M205 may change....the abrasiveness of 205 may not allow 360 to seal....M205 may be difficult to remove if it sets too long with...

    Where to start...

I think you mean 3 step correction etc...its compound , medium Polish, finishing polish generally. I'd seek out those that offered help and take it. Mike's books are good places to start as well.

New(ish) to detailing, want to drive great looking cars!

Are you going to clay bar them first? Th Mother's clay bar kit is a good start for $20. Will make a big difference. Tip (if funds are an issue): if you are going to polish the car after you wash & clay, you can save a bit on the lube and use your soap as lubricant for clay bar job, then polish...

    Favorite Go-To Products

I'd say PERL , at different dilutions can be used for engine detail, exterior trim all types, tires w/ layering for different effects, and the majority of many car interiors for Plastic Leather and Vinyl.

Opti-Coat Beading... In the Ice! And DLux and PERL!

Instead of buying expensive window ice melt, there is another alternative. You can use the orange or blue (depending on your temps) windshield washer fluid in an empty squirt bottle (windex style) and use that. Has same effect, costs a buck or so per empty bottle, and you know it won't leave...

    LSP stripping

I have a car with sealants applied, over the summer, which is undergoing a winter of approx 8-10 touchless car washes. How do you want me to test in the spring? Hood had duragloss 111 after polish, side panels power lock, roof just spray sealant in October. I was guessing it would be all gone...

Can someone educate me on Iron-X?

So after Iron-X has shown "bleeding" of particles, washing off afterwards gives a decom'ed surface? Has anyone tested a second round of Iron-X to see if ALL the bleeding is gone after the first application? Wondering since if clay doesn't remove embedded particle stuck within clear coat, I'm...
