    Depressed...then I did the unthinkable...

In the same boat as you , no garage cold winters, you need to get them clean using rinseless wash, coupled with waterless wash solution if really dirty aka GDM on the days when its 38 and above, using warm water, it works very well. However now that it below 20 for the high...forget it. Find a...

New SS (2% increase) tax in effect

For the people who claim SS is not an entitlement understand that for every dollar you paid into it you will get back 5. Therein lies the problem. Solutions will be to raise retirement age for all those 55 and younger to 75. And to means test others. No one will like that....oh well when we...

I'm baffled - still have swirls after hours of work

After reading user created solutions like this and try other compounds I came to the conclusion that yes 105 is very difficult to work with compared to other compounds widely available, especially for a beginner. And most of all, its not even needed 90% of the time.

I'm baffled - still have swirls after hours of work

Don't start with M105, start with M205, the least aggressive approach. Prime the pad properly, and read all the ti[p and techniques required for using M205 and M105 if you need to cut more. After you read all of the tips and techniques and, IMHO, hoops you have to jump through to get these...

    ONRWW wash media?

GDM works great, I tried Sam's Club MF towels, and they are OK, but thin nap. Going to try Euro 660's next for paint and glass, picked up some cheaper black MF towels on another site for tires/wheels. To dry use cobra WW.

Review my order b4 purchase.. D/A polisher and Polish questions

From what the Menzerna charts says you should finish with 4000 or 4500 before final wipe/clean/lsp. 4000 recommended for Repair (corrected) or Aged paint, 4500 for OEM or like new, from the way I interpret that chart. If you need more correction after your test spot step up cutting ability of...

Which product to by Meguiars, Menzerna or Duragloss?

I think the most important pieces of information above are "if you don't know what you are doing". Newbies generally do not, and may not have the time to spend countless hours perfecting technique. I think if that information is passed onto people here in the 101 section it would be helpful To...

Which product to by Meguiars, Menzerna or Duragloss?

I fell for the m105/m205 trap as a beginner. I do not recommend them unless you have all day to perfect the "technique" needed to use them properly. Go with the Wolfgang twins, its reportedly Menzerna in smaller bottles. Better off taking the money you save and buying multiple type of pads...

How to restore exterior black plastic trim

I found spray wax after treatingthe plastic works well. so buff on sometrim product then wait an hour and spray on then buff off some spray wax. left no white residue and improved trim restorer or trim conditioner durability. 845 will leave white residue if accidently left on trim. I should...

    Where to store sealants?

A garage tends to have large temperature swings. The garage fridge seems like a good idea, turned off, I'd check it with a thermometer to ensure it doesnt get too hot or cold, probably 55-70 would be OK. I am keeping everything in my basement which is around 62 in the winter and 72 in the summer.

Dashboard help, residue removed now no shine

You removed texture? That means you removed plastic/vinyl material. You would "restore it" by replacing it. You can try a junk yard for a new dash. You can try a paint, but it won't restore the "texture", you must have sanded it down with the scrubber edge, that means its gone for good.
