Is there an advantage to using those "Flat Pads" or just preference?

Has anyone seen or used the thin foam pads for polishing with the pc7424/flex? Whats the difference(besides the obvious)? Are they any good or equal to the thicker pads?

Thanx Jenn...i appreciate the honest feedback!! Those are my gas station prices when i allow myself to do those type of washes,a set time & date. My perspective is a 2part situation express(gas station), & personal clients that may want to get a mild treatment/. Part mobile,part stationary!!
