It's not something that I recommend but yea. If I warn them about what the end result could be and they don't care then I go ahead and do it.....but I don't like to advertise it because I don't really feel comfortable claying without polishing.

Good information from all of you.....slightly different takes on this but all seem to have the same idea! I wouldn't feel comfortable advertising such detail but then again, a lot of my customers seem to want smooth paint and "shine" and I guess explaining the risks of having the paint clayed...

I've gone through different websites for detailers (some of who belong to AG forum members) and I noticed that a lot of them seem to offer claying the car as part of the detail but no polishing afterwards.....only protection (wax/sealant). Me personally, don't see how that would work considering...

I've only used the soap on the actual wheels that I have previously treated with some type of protectant like Collinite 845 or Wheel Wax.....not actual tires!

I've been using Collinite 854 or Wheel Wax for the wheels to help reduce on the brake dusting caking up and both have done wonders. Even if it does cake up on the wheels, it washes off very easily. As for the tires......been using Bleche White for wuite some time and don't plan on changing that...

The most help my boys provide me is to remind me that it's time for me to clean the car.....which is no help at all!!

Ah yes.....the Squeegee wash! Normal in my area. That and the Palmolive and house broom exterior wash under the beaming sun! I Love it when I see that! My neighbor has a new Camaro and he cleans that thing with Tuff Stuff and paper towels on a weekly basis!
