Is Pinnacle Advanced Wheel Cleaner the right product for me?

I agree. To be 100% clear, I don't think using that wheel cleaner will "fail" it the sense of not helping with the brake dust. I do think that it would help with the brake dust, and that it would help with the polishing (less chance of scratches etc). But I don't think it would help enough to be...

Is Pinnacle Advanced Wheel Cleaner the right product for me?

If we are talking seriously embedded brake dust: My guess is that you won't be able to polish it out, since you said you already tried claying and polishing. But unless you have/really want pinnacle, it might be worth getting something at a store to try.

    Griots PFM drying towel

He might mean "griots aero air can sprayer", which is basically a spray can (like for spray paint) but that you can fill with your own products (& pressurize yourself) Not sure policy about links anymore so i won't link, but their site describes it as "The Aero AIR Can Sprayer is a...

    21,031 users in 2016 to 2,400???

That is a good point, and I do not have an answer to it. The auto forge website might have had a "forum" button at one point, but I'm not sure clicking on it did anything.

    21,031 users in 2016 to 2,400???

his forum is themikephillipsforum not autoforge forum. Maybe he wanted it kept separate from autoforge? When he was with 3D there was a 3D forum and that vanished. Or maybe autoforge doesn't want a forum :dunno: Maybe discord will be the next thing people will do, but I don't see what...

Product Suggestions to Avoid Water Spots

Are these waterless washes that specify QD dilution ratios, or are you just experimenting to find a ratio that works as a QD? (if the latter, what ratios are you using?) Thanks.

Custom Paint Job - 1980 Corvette - RUPES & Gyeon - Extreme Show Car Makeover at Autogeek

I have tried to draw on that picture in your post: I see lines, which i draw on in red. I'm guess this is the direction the rotary was moved I see other (circular?) scratches, & I draw on (some) of them in blue. These look the same as swirls TO ME, but I THINK these are also from buffer...

Custom Paint Job - 1980 Corvette - RUPES & Gyeon - Extreme Show Car Makeover at Autogeek

Can someone explain to me how to tell that the marks in the last 2 pictures are Holograms? To my eyes all 3 pictures look like swirls, and I don't see the difference between the first picture and the later 2 pictures. (except maybe more lines coming out from where the light hits...?) :(

Using heat gun to remove rubber marks from paint?

That has solvents in it though (albeit likely very diluted). I'm not against solvents, but maybe heat is a better option. Not sure. Also, that R3 seems to have great reviews. I have heard good things about trak wrap.

Using heat gun to remove rubber marks from paint?

Anyone here use a heat gun when removing rubber marks from paint? (rubber marks like from tires when tracking a car, burnouts, etc). Does it work? If so, what's your technique and about how hot do you get the paint (80 degrees F, 90, 120...?). Bonus questions: Any other techniques for...

    Need some new sprayers...

Heres another thread from a while back about sprayers: older thread My favorite sprayers are the squarish griots sprayers (which I believe come with their 22oz bottles). I really like their spray pattern & haven't felt the need for a more adjustable spray pattern. I don't use them daily...

Aggressive clay or 3000 grit ?

In these pictures it is okay to use rotary (? I believe that is nano rotary?) to compound/buff around those slats like that? Specifically, the risk of burn-through on top part of those slats is not too high ?

Only Wiping Once Using QD/WW products

Eureka! I did not take car color into account. That could indeed be why one wipe often seems like enough to me these days. Thats a great saying! I hope he still comes around and participates Roger that.

Only Wiping Once Using QD/WW products

A lot of QD/WW products have directions that say Step 1: spray the product (either on car or on towel directly) Step 2: wipe with one side of the towel Step 3: wipe with another side of the towel (or another towel) However, in recent years I've seen microfiber towels that seem to pick up all...

    Is this considered "streaking"?

I have included below an Autogeek video with Mike Phillips & Forrest Toise. From 5:02-5:10 Forrest Toise is wiping off the lubricant (Mothers Instant Detailer), and after the second & third wipe you can briefly see where he wiped (after wiping). This disappears after a second or two, so its...

Do you NEED to prep before waxing?

Thanks, both of you. This is exactly the information I was looking for. That sounds like a blast! Also, applying the LSP to everything seems like a great call. As things age I feel like the elements are able to get to such places (seat frames, dashboards, etc). I should have known you would...

    Removing RIDS with the Griot's GR3 Rotary Polisher - 1973 Camaro Z28

Hello and thanks for the great post. This seems like a very user friendly tool. I am wondering if you have any insight to share about how the smaller pad size and/or using an extension affects how hot the pad (and paint) get?
