I have a recipe for the stuff I use to clean my telescope optics (when needed), but I'd want Killer's OK before posting. It'll take an oily fingerprint off the glass with just the weight of the surgical tissue I use for cleaning and leaves nothing behind. Pat

Ya'll on 110/115 volts or 220/230 volts there? If 220/230 you'll need a step down transformer. Check with a local electrical/electronics hobby shop if you don't know. And whatever you do, don't plug it in until you KNOW for sure!!!:eek: If you do and you're running on 220/230 volts...

No rail dust to worry about. I picked up the X in Nashville 35 miles away from the assembly plant in Smyna, Tn. I am considering clay though. I can get the Mothers kit locally. Will it pass muster for the job? Pat

Thanks for the reply. I'll ponder further. I'm really touchy about my optics. I use the optic solution on the X's glass. Nice stuff and homemade cheep. Leaves no trace at all. Pat

I hope that was a joke. You're not even recommended to clean these optics under any but the most extreme circumstaces and then only with a special solution. The coatings are literally sub-micron thick. I was thinking of the tube body. Pat

thanks, BTW Does any one know the outgassing properties of Natty's Blue? I'm considering protecting my scope but I'm concerned with the possible downside to the coatings on the optics - very delicate.:confused: Pat
