I just ordered a gallon of Opti-bond, never used it before, but from the pics it looks like it might look good on plastic parts in the engine, especially hoses. Anyone ever tried this, and how did it look?

I was reading about the poor results a few weeks ago I haven't been on Autopia lately since they had that crash.

People have tried it on Autopia and were getting the poor results I was talking about which I don't understand.

Yes, I'd definitely get a Flex over the PC if those were the only two choices. The thing that I find strange is that from what I've read people get better results with the PC than the Flex with the KBM, that just doesn't make sense to me.

Also most of the top detailers still use a rotary.

My problem with the PC is the vibrations kill my arms after a while and to get similar results you have to use non diminishing abrasives with a LOT of pressure. That reduces the spectrum of products that can be effective and it's just more difficult to use.

How about this: PC = Honda Accord Flex = Chevrolet Camaro Rotary = Chevrolet Corvette :D

I did not get that impression, especially not on cars with hard clear coats. If the defects are easier to remove then I could see that but I still think the rotary is a few steps above even a flex. However a flex is much better IMO than a PC.

Has anyone noticed any difference in performance between these two wheel cleaners?

I was skeptical because I live in South Texas, it gets plenty hot here and I've never seen that condition.

I'd compare rotary vs orbital the same as orbital vs hand polishing.

Rotary is much faster with any polish and gets better results.

Glad I have a Corvette, I don't have to deal with that lol.

If you are getting rust spots that means you have a hole through the clear coat, the base, and the primer all the way to the metal, I doubt that's what those specks are though.

One reason not to put a sealant or anything for that matter on the windshield is that it can cause wiper chatter.

One explanation for the different results people are getting with 105 is inconsistency of the product, there may be varying levels of cut, who knows.

No work time was a lot less than Power Gloss. PG removed 2000 grit sanding marks in one pass, 105 still left some marks after 3 passes. IP removed the marks after 3 passes.

All the polishes mentioned are not intended to remove scratches from glass they are way too weak you need the Caswell Glass Polishing Kit.
