So youre saying wash the car, clay the car, wash the car again, and then apply the sealant?

So what would be the in between step between claying and sealant?

I watched a youtube video from chemical brothers where after claybarring a car they just hand wiped some of their paint sealant on and then wiped it off after 20 mins. They didn't buff it in by hand or with a machine buffer at all. Does this work? Is it a good idea to try?
