It does go on thin, but the red pad just eats product. Like 95%. Why does the pad have to absorb wax, I would think an 8th inch of open cell with the other half inch just for padding would be ideal for this product. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

I'd say it depends where you live, in my area moisture would kill your car over time on gravel.

Of concern is the constant moisture that could come thru the gravel.
