Now I have the flex with my 5.9 backing plate and it works great. I leave the 3.5 backing on my PC and barely use the real small backing plate with the 3" pads. I'm sure glad you guys talked me into the PC instaed of the GG 3". I think I would have been real disappointed.

So do you just keep the polishing pad away from them while you are polishing? I'm worried about making a pass too close and going over the edge. thants why I was thinking of taping them off, or will that bring different problems? Thanks Al

Thanks for the input. The scratches are hardly noticeable, so I probably don't need the 205. I started with the 105 and a white pad. When it didn't do much, I went to the yellow. I'll try a few more passes tomorrow and see if it makes a difference. Thanks, Al

This is the kit I ordered. CCS Spot Buffs 4 Inch Foam Pad Kit Free Bonus! Then I ordered the 3-1/2 inch backing plate. I figure I can go 3" or 4" now and I have the flex for 6-1/2". Wish me luck.

I think I'll go with the best of both worlds. PC with 3-1/2" back plate & 4" pads also the kit with the 2-3/4 back plate and a few Griots pads for the real tight work. Thanks for all the advice.
