Recently bought a 1993 Corvette coupe with a tinted acrylic targa roof. The Targa has many scratches in the clear coat finish on it. What would the factory have used for a sealant on those roof panels? I don't want to use the wrong product and destroy a 30 year old expensive part. Suggestions?

Thanks. I never had a car that scratched this easily. Last few cars were a light blue Ford, a silver Kia rio and a few other but this car is a very dark blue, almost black. Maybe it is just more visible on this color. Thank you for the response.

Just bought a Kia Soul + and having problems with small scratches in the clear coat. Even using my California car duster I make minute scratches on it. This is my first Kia and wondering if the clear coat on them is always soft and scratches easily? OR could it be my wax? Mother's canauba paste wax?

Thanks for all recommendations. I have used S100 and always have bug slide on hand. Also have several Mothers and Meguiars products along with blue magic metal polish. I should be able to keep this machine looking good. Thanks!

Trying to upload a pic

I haven't tried anything on it yet. I have been too busy riding it. The clear coat is missing in spots and turning yellow in others. Was thinking of removing the remainder and respraying with a high temp clear.

One thing I found that helps a little on cleaning bikes. Go to the sporting goods department or a gun shop and get shotgun cleaning patches. A bag of a hundred patches are a couple bucks. You get soft cotton cloths a few inches square, just right for applying polish to small parts or tight...

An update, no pics. Photobucket is acting up again. I stripped all the red off, replaced broken headlight bucket and repainted gloss red with several clear coats. All emblems were removed and filled. Airboxes were removed and filters replaced with unipods. New metal side covers were made. Still...
