Post Application Care of CQuartz DLux Suede Cloth?

Thanks all for the replies. Works for me. So I guess if you use the makeup pad you abandon the foam block that comes with the package?

Post Application Care of CQuartz DLux Suede Cloth?

Hi all, I'm about to apply CQuartz DLux but was wondering if the suede cloth that comes with the package is a one shot deal or can it be re-used for applying the product at a later time. I have two DD cars that I need to apply the product to and would be pressed to do both in one fail swoop.

    Polishing Headlights?

Yeah, that probably is the case. I was thinking to get the headlights nice and clean to accept a sealant. What are you recommendations for getting it clean and a sealant?

    Polishing Headlights?

Oh the headlights are in great shape other than some debris marks, they're not stained or yellow. Figured I would give it a good polish to get it smooth to accept a good sealant. What sealant do you like?

    Polishing Headlights?

Thanks for the info. I currently have on hand some Pinnacle paint cleansing lotion and Wolfgang Polish enhancer. Would either of those work? I'll try to get some pictures. It'll be tough as it is slight. It appears like some wear from debris catching on the lens, but I am hoping to stay on top...

    Polishing Headlights?

Thanks for the reply. Any suggestions to what to use? Can I use something designed for paint or do I have to go with something plastic specific? Ed

    Polishing Headlights?

Hi all, I have a two year old Honda CR-V that has some debris on the headlights. Would it be acceptable to start polishing the headlights with something like a paint cleanser? The headlights are not cloudy, but I want to get them pretty clean before I put a sealant on them. I was thinking of...

Time to re-apply WGDGPS - recommended prep?

Thanks Bobby. I figured that would be the process. I probably need to get it down to clean paint anyways as the bag test after the wash this afternoon revealed quite a bit of contaminate on the paint. Not too bad given it has been six months. Ed.

Time to re-apply WGDGPS - recommended prep?

Hi all, Well, it looks like it is time for me to re-apply my paint sealant. The current application involved wash, clay, pinnacle paint cleanser, Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant, and then finish off with Fuzion. It has held very well and has been about six months since the initial...

Should I wait until Pollen season ends before detailing new car?

Hi all, Well, it's pollen season and we just got a new car. I was planning on detailing it but am concerned that the pollen will affect the outcome. I planned on doing Iron x, clay, polish, seal and then wax. Pollen can be an irritant so I imagine it could scratch the car especially when...

Sealing or protecting engine on brand new car?

I have a 2012 Honda CRV, while my wife just gotta 2013 Accord 4 cylinder. I haven't taken a look at the accord's engine yet, but I would imagine it is typical Honda in that everything is nice and tidy.

Sealing or protecting engine on brand new car?

Good point. The Honda seems to cover a lot of their parts with plastic, so I'll just periodically wipe down the engine area with some old cloths. Do you think a plastic and rubber cleaner would be o.k.; similar to what is used inside the car? Thanks, Ed

Getting new car - comments on plan for first detail?

Thanks. Should I do the entire car with Iron x, or just the wheels? It seems like a pretty aggressive product, so I am a bit intimidated by it.

Getting new car - comments on plan for first detail?

Thanks for the info. The car looks great and literally came off the carrier yesterday and they removed the protective stickers yesterday afternoon. When you mentioned to treat the rubber and seals, what would you recommend? BTW - they tried to sell us the Simoniz paint sealant for 600.00...

Getting new car - comments on plan for first detail?

Thanks for the information. Few questions. What is UIG+? What rubber seals will I have to address? As for the door jams, should I remove grease if I find some? Thanks, Ed

Getting new car - comments on plan for first detail?

Hi all, Tomorrow I am taking possession of a new Honda Accord in Champaign color. Here is my plan for the first detail. 1. Wash car with two bucket method. 2. Clay. 3. Apply Pinnacle Paint Cleansing Lotion. 4. Apply Wolfgang High Gloss Paint Sealant. 5. Apply Wolfgang Fuzion. 6. Apply Aquapel...

Which to use next - more aggressive pad or product?

Thanks Bobby. I have the Pinnacle Twins so I could start with that. Would it be best to start with the Orange pad with the swirl remover or a white pad with the advanced polish? Or, the orange pad with the polish? See me being overwhelmed? I assume that the polish would have to be applied...

Which to use next - more aggressive pad or product?

I'll try to get some. I just seem to remember that a compound was used for paint in real bad condition such as oxidation which is why using a compound seems to scare me a bit. It wasn't until I joined the forum that I was exposed to the term polish. Ed
