Are boat products different than automotive stuff?

I know Collinite relabel their durable waxes like 476 also in the boaters world, under different numbers. And there are some paint safe boat sealants make me think if they could also be applied on a car for the ultimate durability. So do they really differ, and what should we be aware of if we...

anyone used the prima hydroseal yet?

As I understand, it doesn't like oily products or even wax from a shampoo used under it. I bought DJ Supernatural Shampoo to use prior HydroSeal but still will probably follow the Amigo + Epic + HS routine instead. Hope to see more results on different combos though.

    Reattaching backing to foam pads???

I used some contact adhesive on my pads and they seem to keep well. I think spray trim adhesives should work ok too. Maybe something with high heat resistance may pay off. Like this one seems to be a good value for money. Amazon.com: Hi-Temp Heavy-Duty Trim Adhesive: Automotive

anyone used sonax high speed spray wax

Used it once. I weren't into detailing this much and this stuff was a good step above wash&wax stuff. I were surprised how it disappeared into the paint and leave deep colors and a nice silky shine to it. It didn't streak at all and was easy to buff on a wet car. The car I used was a neglected...

    fast cure sealent

Zaino ZFX and Duragloss Polish Bonding Agent are two example products that can speed up a sealants curing process, if used with the compatible products manufacturer states. Can bring a 12-24 hour curing process down to 2 hours as far as I know. Other than these, I've been recommended Optimum...

    FK 1000P Problem Help Please!

Use some technique like what people do with RubbishBoy's Original Edition homebrew wax. Heat the applicator or the top layer of the wax with a hair dryer or a low temp heat gun. Once you break the outermost hard layer you'll have the chance to reach much softer product under it.

Duragloss #601 Polish Bonding Agent Information

So I understand it works well under Z2 and Z5 then, right? :D (just joking, won't open another can of worms) I really have a strong feel that it should work well under Mark V's IP100 Polyshine with a very similar cypher written on the bottle. But then it's the power of chemical encryption...

    cleaner wax question...

Even a hard rain can remove my NXT 2.0 :) I bet a cleaner wax can easily remove it. But, I am not that sure FK1000p will bond to a cleaner wax willingly. Maybe an acrylic base like Klasse AIO or a pure cleanser will be better for durability.

    5.5 inch lc pads

A Kestrel DA. Something close to Meguiar's G220 (or G110). Have a Flex (the big one) circular polisher too. But I'm very new in rotary using and it is a heavy beast. :)

    5.5 inch lc pads

I believe I've heard these Hydro Tech pads shred easier than others. Have I read wrong? How many should I buy at the first order? I plan to correct 2 year old swirls on my own VW Passat (Dark Blue Metallic) so I guess I won't need Cyan much, but do I?

Benefits of using QD or Spray Wax when drying after ONR?

Maybe it's me who feels a difference. I have more than 4 gallons of different QDs at home and need to spend them somehow :)

Benefits of using QD or Spray Wax when drying after ONR?

No problem :xyxthumbs: I dry it panel by panel but it can still leave some slight haze due to highly contaminated solution. I usually pat-dry the panels for the first go. So using a QD afterwards removes all the water marks etc. I bought a grit guard but couldn't find a bigger bucket to put...

Benefits of using QD or Spray Wax when drying after ONR?

My ONR solution usually goes brown after doing half of the car so I just can't get that streak free look on the latest panels. So although I don't use a QD panel by panel I find using a QD to pass all over the car once more gives me the confidence that I am not rubbing the dirt onto the paint...

IME, M105 reacts different on different paint systems...

People say #95 may be a better choice for some paints. #95 is a rotary only compound but I'd like to use a rotary for serious correction anyway. More oily and longer buffing cycle rather than the drier nature of #105 (the lubricators of #105 can be swallowed by a dry, old paint). What do pros...

Optimum has rrocked the Waterless Wash market!

Do you guys really rate this kind of waterless wash formulas? I mean I just can't dare to touch my paint with that much dirt on, by just believing that a fine mist of spray can lift the dirt, encapsulate the particles and transform them into mushy marshmallows :) Have you got a trick? Or are...

Optimum has rrocked the Waterless Wash market!

I have only used ONR for the last 3 washing sessions and I must say that it pleased me with a week old dirt with just a bucket and 2 gallons of ONR solution. But on a two weeks dirty car I have to be more careful and rinse the sponge more often. One bucket with two gallons of solution gets dirty...
