Magnesium Chloride on New Black Audi

Note...the blue spot is just a camera artifact. Thanks Mike, I appreciate your reply. I do have a Porter Cable 7424 XP. I tried using it in the past but felt I wasn't very good with it and haven't had as much time for detailing as I would like...so I typically apply by hand. Maybe...

Magnesium Chloride on New Black Audi

Just picked up a brand new Audi, Orca Black Metallic, a few days ago. Within a couple days, after a snow, got drenched on the highway by a truck de-icing the road. Now I have spots all over my car that don't come off with washing. My plan was to put a coat of Wolfgang DGPS as soon as I can...

Problem with Wolfgang Uber SiO2 Coating Wash

Thanks Bobby, I have a Porter Cable 7424XP, but am not very comfortable using it yet. I didn't want to risk being too aggressive with it, which is why I wanted to try all of this by hand first. Would you suggest Finishing Glaze with an orange pad?

Problem with Wolfgang Uber SiO2 Coating Wash

I also thought it had to be something else when I first noticed it. Can't think of anything else it could be though...and the sun coming up as I was washing, along with the apparent extreme sensitivity of this SiO2 wash to heat, makes me think it has to be the wash.

Problem with Wolfgang Uber SiO2 Coating Wash

Thanks Tony, I noticed some very light smudges that did come off with Finishing Glaze and TSW. For the most part, the smears did not show improvement. I suppose it would be logical to use my DA polisher. I'm not very comfortable using it yet, so wanted to give it a try by hand first. Thanks...

Problem with Wolfgang Uber SiO2 Coating Wash

So...tried Finishing Glaze and that didn't take it off. Then tried WG Total Swirl Remover and that didn't work either. Just for fun, tried Eraser. That didn't work either. I applied the Finishing Glaze and TSW by hand. Any other thoughts?

Problem with Wolfgang Uber SiO2 Coating Wash

Thanks...I don't think so. I'm pretty careful about measuring how much I use.

Problem with Wolfgang Uber SiO2 Coating Wash

Thanks Tony, I definitely didn't realize how sensitive this wash is to the sun and heat. Thought I was washing and rinsing fast enough...and was washing before the sun came up. However, I'm in Colorado at about 6800 ft elevation. The sun is pretty intense. Won't make that mistake again!

Problem with Wolfgang Uber SiO2 Coating Wash

Thanks Jim, Wolfgang Paintwork Polish Enhancer didn't take it off. Would you have a suggestion for a polish to use for this? Louie

Problem with Wolfgang Uber SiO2 Coating Wash

I've used the Wolfgang Uber SiO2 Coating Wash a couple time on my 2012 Diamond White Yukon Denali and on my 2019 Orang Sunset Metallic BMW 330i and have been very happy. I have Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant on both and routinely use Wolfgang Auto Bathe for washes with Pinnacle Liquid Spray...

Uber SiO2 Coating Wash before Deep Gloss Paint Sealant

    Thanks...that's what I was thinking.

Uber SiO2 Coating Wash before Deep Gloss Paint Sealant

Just wondering...Is it OK to use Wolfgang SiO2 Coating Wash before applying Deep Gloss Paint Sealant? Or, should I use Auto Bathe?

    How to remove this...?

Thanks for the comments. I'll give those a try.

    How to remove this...?

Wondering if I could get some recommendations for how to remove this tar and greasy staining from around trim. I've used Tarminator, but it really didn't help much. Particularly around the trim. Thanks for any help...

    Product Confusion

The chemistry of all these coatings is interesting. So, WGDGPS needs clean paint to adhere to...then a wax like Pinnacle Souveran Liquid can top it. If Wolfgang Instant Detail Spritz and Wolfgang Uber SiO2 Coating Wash can then make any difference in the shine and beading properties of the...

    Product Confusion

Just want to be sure I’ve got it right and that SiO2 products are compatible with all that I am doing...I can use the Wolfgang Uber SiO2 Coating Wash as my routine wash and continue to use Pinnacle Souveran Spray Wax over that? ...and use Wolfgang Instant Detail Spritz between washes?

    Product Confusion

Another question regarding my coatings... When I got this car from the dealer, they had "detailed" it...which I assume was a quick coat of a wax. So, before I applied Wolfgang Deep Gloss PS I washed and clayed the car. Was it a mistake for me not to remove any existing wax from the dealer with...

    Product Confusion

Thanks DETAILROOKIE, After claying, I put one coat of Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant followed by a coat of Pinnacle Souveran Liquid Wax.
