    Metallic paint or not?

Hey guys, Knowing what you know now on detailing, would you choose flat paint over metallic one for your next vehicle? I just thought a well maintained vehicle with flat paint might have deeper color, gloss and reflectivity. On the other hand swirls and scratches could also be more obvious if...

    Color-X vs XMT 360 AIO?

For my understanding UC is more a 1-step correction, not AIO. It finishes quite nicely but still needs to be topped up with wax / sealant for protection.

    Color-X vs XMT 360 AIO?

Sometimes I just wanted to do quick one step minor correction, cleaning, and sealing on my car which I say about 85% condition. I am not really aiming for perfection on this one is a DD. So I am tossing between Meg's Color-X which I can happily find in most auto stores, or XMT 360 which I heard...

How do you guys prep that plastic "fake chrome" grill/trim material

I use Autoglym Glass Polish to prep and clean those shiny chrome plastics. It is mentioned on the bottle that this can be used to clean the "brightworks". I am very impressed with the result, a very clean, bright and shiny finish, not to mention it removes water spots & contaminants...

    Meg's Ultimate Wax...

Get the paste one because this one won't streak! Very easy to apply thinly, easy to buff off. With D156 if you apply it by misting on MF cloth thinly then wipe it on dry paint it will flash immediately, in most cases you don't even have to buff it off! Little effort, great result!

    Wheel weight adhesive inside rim

I would use a Heat Gun and scraper first to remove majority of the adhesives. Be careful not burn the wheel, just enough heat to melt the adhesive! Then WD-40, goo gone, citrus power or similar to clean the remaining residue.

Can Orbital Sander be safely used as Polisher, applying wax & AIO?

I am considering to get a Lithium-Ion cordless orbital sander to be used as polisher. Has anybody tried this?? Here's the little machine: http://www.ryobi.com.au/Products/PowerTools/ONEplus/Sanders/CRO1800G It has 5" velcro backing plate, 10,000 opm, 1.6mm orbital distance. I know it won't...

    Interior Protectant

I like Megs Hyper Dressing a lot. Diluted 1:4, applied with foam pad, let dry, then wipe with microfibre if necessary. On some panels it makes the black really dark without overly shiny like Megs UP does.

How to differentiate DA foam pads types?

Yeah the thick one is 5cm so it's 2" They all feels to have the same density and texture, and if so, do you think the thicker ones are likely for cutting (most aggressive) and thinner ones for finishing? You can see the thin black one looks squashed and overused after I tried it once for...

How to differentiate DA foam pads types?

Ok thanks guys, here are the pictures of the pads.. they are all 6" As you see there are no reference of the mfg, model, etc. So how do I know which one is which? Thing is those pads are quite affordable so I use them as practise for now and I can always step up to the better ones later!

How to differentiate DA foam pads types?

I have a pack of 6 different DA foam pads. They are generic, non-branded pads with different colours and thickness. And as far as I can tell they all have similar densities. How do I differentiate which one is used for which level of cuts? (heavy cut, light cut, finishing, etc) If you have...

    Question on WGDGPS 3.0

Thanks mpkav, Wow 6 months and still beading strong? It surely lasts a long time! One thing that also stuck me with UPW is how easy it is to come off compared to my previous other waxes.. Its actually a sealant like WGDGPS, and I am now contemplating if I can justify spending money on another...
