    Sully's Detailing: CLK

Very nice! A shame about the wheels. MB brake pads have probably ruined more wheels than any other cause. You might advise your client to switch to Wagner brake pads. Performance is equal or better than OEM and they dust up a LOT less. Well done on the CLK ;)

1993 MR-2 Turbo Race Car gets christened the AutoLavish way

Well done! Did the APC take care of the residue from the Toyota badge on the rear that had been removed? That stuff can be stubborn.

    hello from Mississippi

Welcome! :welcome: There are more opinions than products so asking what is best to start with is a REALLY loaded question! The trouble is, most all of the products out there work, depending upon how well you follow the instructions and how well you have learned the basics. My personal...

WUNDERBAR!!! I'd also be curious as to what you used to get those results. It would be fun to pull into a Sonic or other drive-in to see what kind of reactions you'd get. :)

    Griot's Random Orbital Polisher

My new 6" HD Griot's unit arrived a couple of days ago. :) I took it out of the box tonight and plugged it in, just to make sure that it powered up and worked OK. One question: when the unit is off, the backing plate rotates freely. Is this normal? I don't remember my old Griot's polisher...

Best products for single stage paints?

I've got an 87 Benz 560SL w single stage white. I am very partial to Meguiars. I used their #83 polish, the #7 show car glaze and then their NXT2.0 sealant, topped with the #26 carnuba wax. It was good enough to take 3rd in a national MB concours in August. :) There are so many good products...

    Remove white lithium grease

Yikes. Maybe some type of tar or adhesive remover. 3M makes a good one. Stoner's has a product, too. Maybe try plain old alcohol first.

    best pad cleaner(s)?

I use the DP pad cleaner - the powder stuff that mixes into a bucket of water. Handy when you can't get to the cleaning part right away. As far as dedicated pads, I get the idea that a lot of the pros segregate their pads as to the type of product used. I tend to just use polishing pads for...

    Griot's Random Orbital Polisher

:iagree: I already have one of those. It's indispensable for some of the hard to polish areas on my Benz. :xyxthumbs:

    Griot's Random Orbital Polisher

I just ordered one of the package deals with the new Griot's unit with the HD cord option. I've read elsewhere that this new one is far and away better than the original, and might even have an edge on power to other similar units. I can't wait to try it out! Luckily, I found a buyer for my...

New Griots 6 Inch Polish- New and Improved!

I guess it works OK, but if I put the least bit of pressure on it, (much less the 15lbs + that some call for) I notice that the rotation stops. I mark the pads with a marker so that I can tell. The weight of the machine is about all it will take. Until I can justify getting the new model, I...

New Griots 6 Inch Polish- New and Improved!

Too bad that Griot's does not take trade-ins for those of us that bought the OLD units! I'd love to have the new one, but no one would buy the old unit that I have. Maybe if it ever quits on me....
