I've seen larger ones at a local custom shop for wheels/tires. I'll try to find out where they get them the next time that I'm out there. The ones that I saw were a bright lime green.

I use 6" and 6.5" LC pads on my Griot's unit. It's nice to have other pads in the arsenal. I also just got one of their 3" orbitals. Slick little unit! Many many uses.

I guess it's good that the manufacturer decided that more power was needed (even the Griot's unit got a boost), but having to buy a new unit to get more power is just hard to justify for a non-pro user. Maybe I could justify it by keeping the old one as a back-up, but I'm going to wait on both...

I've used Griot's spray on wax since our Mini Cooper was new, and it's really helped keep it looking like new. If I'm pressed for time, I use it while I'm drying the car after a wash. Great stuff.

If you are looking for a spray on / wipe down product, [meaning the car is clean/clayed already] I've had good luck with Griot's Garage Paint Prep.

I've read elsewhere that the new Mequiar's 105 on a white polishing pad does a good job on the Vette clearcoat, but you might want to do a search to confirm it. Your optimum on a white pad would be good, too. I agree that an orange pad might be too much. Sorry that your friend had to learn...

For those plastic drawers that sag, you could cut pieces of thin plywood or other thin rigid material to fit in the bottom. If you have the tools and the time, that is. I need to get one of these myself.

Swirls and marring after 2500 miles...sometimes you wonder if these guys take a new Porsche out and drive it through a hedgerow or something. [probably a brush & swirl car wash ;) ] VERY nice work.
