    Summer coming to AZ.

Yellow? Same reason I stopped using it. I would apply it about 3 times per year (starting a new car with 3 coats). Didn't really notice for years as the cars were green, brown and gold. Didn't use it on the burgundy Pathfinder we've had all these years. Too much work. That got treated with my...

    Mirror Finish Delorean

Nah, some of us that are older than that watched John Z. for a long time. He did create the GTO, the Firebird, and redid the Grand Prix while he was running GM's "we build excitement" division. Call him the father of the musclecar. The DeLorean car was built in Northern Ireland with government...

    Mirror Finish Delorean

Amazing. With all the leftover parts, you can still buy a "new" DeLorean. The company is now working on an electric model. Maybe they would be interested in a mirror finish. You should contact them. Jim

    Summer coming to AZ.

I've been using Liquid Glass (a sealant) last 30 years. I was reluctant to put wax on the cars, but I did (over Wolfgang DGPS). I was worried that I would come out and find the wax dripping off the car. So far, it's been OK, but it's getting hotter with each passing day. Jim

    Summer coming to AZ.

Why do you think we have so many "snowbirds"? People who come in October, leave in late April or early May, and spend their summers back wherever they came from. Actually, the massive influx of people, and the resulting construction of houses, roads, etc. has made the summers worse than they...

    Summer coming to AZ.

My white driveway registered 154 this afternoon. The asphalt registered 163. Car was only 107, but it was in the garage. Jim

    Summer coming to AZ.

I wonder just how many of us AZ residents are on this forum. I see quite a few posts that say AZ. Jim

    Summer coming to AZ.

I was at U-Haul. In a cool office next to an air-conditioned computer room. Came outside and said to myself "it doesn't feel that hot". Got in my air-conditioned car (parked in a covered garage) and went home. That was my 1990 300ZX, with R12 and air conditioning that worked no matter how...

    Summer coming to AZ.

June 26, 1990. Wife has a T-Shirt that says "I was there the day the Firebird melted" It reached 122. It wasn't about the thrust. The FAA information about how to set the flaps only went to 120 degrees. So, they shut down the airport. New charts created after that event go to 135. I sure...

    Leaf Blower for drying

The drill/driver kits come with 2 batteries, and the charger. From that point on, you just buy the bare tools. Compared to purchasing each component separately, that's a bargain. Separately, the batteries are $100 each, and the charger is $100 as well. If you look at it that way, you're...

    Leaf Blower for drying

Hi Ed: Just to make your decision harder, here's a photo. Had the tools out over the weekend, and completely forgot about this little gem. They're about $19 retail, but one of my clients is a Makita (and others) dealer, and he gave me this. Hadn't even thought about it, but it's a...

    Camera Advice ?

Provided you have enough space in your iPhone, it should work just fine. Once the photo has been reduced to binary bits, it isn't going to change no matter what you pass it through. It should already be a compressed binary, so the photo should arrive just as it was recorded. Jim

The Most Beautiful Car I've Had The Privilege Of Working On

That's a stunner. 1959 or 1960? My first car was a 1962 1600 MK II. Last time I saw it was this photo, taken in 1970, when my parents made me sell it. 1970 Illinois License plate. Even though I replaced several body parts (2 fenders and boot), and re-painted it, it never looked as good as...
