    Howdy from Ohio

Great question...the forum is rife with abbreviations that cause everyone to be either an "innie" or an "outie" as they used to say in Highschool...diso -- Dealer Induce Swirl Options. It's a great option you often do not even have to tick the box for...costs little, is glady offered by the some...

    Leather Steering wheel

Lots of prods out there for this..everyone has a favorite. Keeping it clean is first of course, and Leatherique makes cleaners and conditioners, so does Megs...I use Griots Interior cleaner with a fine sponge, and then condition it on a monthly basis with their Leather Care solution. Sonax makes...

    something wrong? griots UCS

Yup...its meant to be sprayed and spread...evens out and does the trick. If the wheel wells are really clean, a good spray wax, like the GG Spray on Wax, and evened out really dries out nice and keeps the road build up at minimums...

Can you strip wax if the soap is to strong?

Maybe not the first washing, and depending upon the product and its dilution--sure it will strip wax, with repeats. Never seen any of the major top tier auto wash prods do it right away tho. Thats why that sacrifice barrier of something regularly put on top of the wax is vital...kind of takes...

    Quality MF Towels

Am in Griots MF camp on this one...consistently plush and absorbant. They wash up nice and have less of that "sizing" in them that make other MF's not pick up moisture as I like. Edges are done professionally as well.

    Removing Wax from Jar ???

Thanks Mike...just have not used these. Kind of like grabbing a pound of butter by hand to smear it on your toast. :xyxthumbs:Been using the Griot's stick carnuba and thats nice.

    Removing Wax from Jar ???

I may be like the Gieco guy under a rock, but not sure what wax you are having to get out of the jar--am probably behind the latest product neato thingy. Maybe set it in some warm water for just a few seconds, to release it but not create a messy inside jar??

    Griot's Paint Prep...

I use the Paint Prep all the time, and love it. Gets the job done without a lot of extra work. Am sold now on the Interior Cleaner as well...yes, there's lots of cleaners out there. A lot of guys seem bent on negative vibs re: Griots...[I was at first--maybe it was the slickness of the ads...

    Question concerning 3M Clear Bra

Thanks for new perspective on the claying...will choose not to do that now. Thanks; tho it was done very lightly and only after it had been exposed to a LOT of air pollutants a year ago. It is delightfully clear, after 2 years, but of course gets decent gentle washes and conditioned.

    2008 Grand Prix

Been using the Carnuba stick on our Titanium Silver BMW's and a white one, and the shine is super...even on silver. Nice thing is that it lasts a bit longer. But then I do use spay wax as sacrifice barrier, but enjoy the ease of the stick for that fine thin application. Your shine is...

    Question concerning 3M Clear Bra

Have same thing...and I feed the material with what was given to me, a spray light foaming conditioner called Plexus. I use it several times, let sit and buff. Great conditioning and shine. Then, later when its time for "wax" etc, it clay it lightly, and then you can add sealants or a fine wax...

    Floor mat recommendations?

Ahhh yes, SWMBO....= She Who Must Be Obeyed....from Rumpole of the Bailey, a wonderful London based, acerbic old barrister, referring to his "ball and chain"...otherwise, "spouse". :xyxthumbs:

    Glass Polishing 101 ?

I use the Griots glass polishing kit, pads etc, and have had absolutely great results. A troubling scratch on my sister's BMW X3, sand scratches on a Yukon, and gas etched fireplace glass made like new. You are doing the right procedure as it seems to read--but not sure but your scratches may be...

updated my website, let me know what you think!

Liked it...simple straightforward and clear. Yes the prices are a bit low, but it might help you in the initial stages if you can hold on for them. You ARE in a higher price point area...goodnight, those guys in Schaumburg are good for more. BTW--everyone has their preferences, but personally I...

    Floor mat recommendations?

For what it's worth department: my wife has a fine BMW X3 which SHE details and is obsessive with--and did NOT want the WeatherTech...thot it was a bit too plebian. UNTIL she saw them in use, got a set, and NOW will not take them out even in summer...unless she is going to a show event etc..and...

So I went to the Griot's HQ today

Am rather jealous right now. Had planned on getting out there for the grand opening last year, and had to cancel at last minute. It was to have been a fun weekend for me. I have been with Richard in Indiana--we have vintage raced at Rd.America same events at Kohler International, tho it took...

    Reapplying wax between details

You'll have no real problem with adding a new layer of wax. IF the cleaning, claying and original sealant/or wax layers were properly applied, then adding another layer is fine. I clay down 2x a year, and add carnuba layers every couple months, normally. No hazing; an easy and fun therapy. DO...

    Griot's "Best of Show" opinion?

Am with the others...actually switched over to the Best of Show but was frustrated at first. Other waxes seem easier to use--but did not last near as long. Once clayed properly, I was simply using too much. I was about ready to quite, when in a detail clinic [and in talking to a Griots tech]...

Got the new website up!! Check it out and leave feedback please!!

You are brave to open up your site to us to advise...hats off to you. The following might help?? Sorry, but I did not catch the significance of KEEPING IT CLEAN FROM "A TO B"...I bet I am missing something here...so forgive me for my stupidity. It seems to be a play on A to Z and that would...

Wash Media... What are your favorites ? and which ones to avoid ?

For what its worth, I am also in Griot's camp on this....their sponges are best, all we use here between the three of us. The mitts are very nice as well, but again they are large, and get pretty heavy so you loose some contact with the finger tip end of the mitt...the MF sponges are superior. I...
