    New Car Detailing Process

Hi Rachel - I also welcome you to the GTI club. I've had my Candy White for a little over a year now. Everyone has their own preference on products, but you have a good line=up. I havent read all the posts on here but Bobby has been a great help to me also. I will tell you one thing, which is...

Your go to for interior doors and dash?

This might sound lame, but I've had my new care for over a year and simply use a swiffer duster which is in my glove box every few days for 15 seconds then use 303 about once a month or so. Interior always looks tight

    Cleaning Stainless Steel

I bought bar keepers friend from Lowes (where you probably got your kobalt) and use it on my stainless tailpipes. Works amazing. They have a cleaner and a polish. Several other forum members use Barkeepers friend and its cheap

Time in between sealant then wax

Quick question...Almost 2 weeks ago, I did my first full detail (with all of your help) and it came out great. The last step I did was Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant. I wanted to throw a coat of 845 on top of it, but couldn't get to it the next day after it cured. If I still wanted to add...

    ---= trading feedback =---

I also did a trade with "snellvilleauto" and it went flawlessly. Great communication throughout. Once we agreed to trade he had it in the mail the next day which was Friday and I had it today which is Monday. He also threw in some extra products. Great guy, great communication, and a class...

Brand New Car - Never Fully Detailed before

Great point. I had to wait a month for my tinting appointment because I wanted to go to a shop in C-bus that works on high end cars and their wait list is that long. Well worth it. First off, it protects the interior, second it looks awesome, and third, it makes it so much more comfortable...

    SAMPLES (original post updated)

I have a 250ml container of Dodo Juice light fantastic for trade. I've used it one time on my small VW GTI so it's basically 95% or more full. There is a crack on the bottom of the container but still looks good. I don't know how it happened, but the wax still looks fine and I don't think I...

    Next step???

I just washed my car, and then I just finished claying. I'm going to go right to either wolfgang deep gloss paint sealant 3.0 or collinite 845. Do I need to wash again, or maybe use ONR or can I go right to the 3.0. Im hoping to do the 3.0 now and then wash and apply the 845 in about 2 weeks...

    Best air freshener?

Agree with the stripper scent. I've tried a few different products and tend to keep going back to stripper scent. I only use about 4 squirts in the back of my car once a week or so. Just enough to keep it fresh without having too strong of a scent

    Thank you!

I've been on this site for a while now ever since I bought my GTI last April. I've spent about $900 bucks on products/equipment for my car and love it. I enjoy trying new things and different products. I love the products which smell good since it makes the process refreshing. I could...

    Detailing a new car???

Thanks guys and a big thanks to BobbyG. I just placed another $155 order to wrap up all of my needs for a while and to round out my pad selection. I think I have enough confidence to bang out the above approach next weekend. :)

    Detailing a new car???

Thanks for all of the advice. What does everyone think of this approach. Keep in mind that my car is a 2011 white vw gti and the paint looks pretty good. I have a few minor paint blemishes but that's about it. 1. wash with a good soap (I have several) plus the two bucket method. 2. Clay...

    Detailing a new car???

My car is actually a year old. I havent used clay on it for about 6 months which was before I had the yellow spots. The only pads I have are LC 5.5" in white, blue and red I think. Maybe an orange. Any thoughts on this, and if so what color pads? Do you think it would harm my paint. My...
