That which doesn’t kill me makes me stronger

I used to be a collector of hot sauces too. I still have about 40 bottles of different stuff in the garage refrigerator. The hottest one that I have is called 'Endorphin Rush'. I have seen at least a dozen people get diaphragm spasms after trying it. I still stomach the hot sauces, but...

Any Items Update to The Secret to Removing Oxidation and Restoring a Show Car Finish to Antique Single Stage Paints??

Might want to try running the Carpro denim or velvet orange peel remover pads. I prefer the velvet ones (about 3000 grit). They leave a polished surface. Might not mess with the metallic flake you're worried about.

I think it was FG400 that was causing the Rupes green foam pads to deteriorate quickly

Rupes coarse wool pad Breakage -reasons

I want to try these new Rupes wool pads, but have been hesitant to plunk down $25 on a single pad. I've been waiting to hear reports about their durability. The B&S Euro-wool pads are half the cost.

Mothers CMX vs Sonax Polymer Net Shield long term durability test

303 used to make wiper wipes that came folded up in a little foil packet. I've been treating my wipers with 303 for along time. Carpro PERL also works well on the wiper blades. giuseppe pepperoni, why do you assume we are cheaping out with your wiper blades/brake pad analogy. I use the Bosch...

Stubborn Brake Dust on factory wheels

I haven't noticed that you've tried a tar remover yet. Brake dust will stick to the tar deposits and will bleed making it seem like a giant blob of brake dust. Try a strong tar remover then go back to the iron removing wheel cleaner afterwards and see what that does for you.

Coated my tires today and WOW,

Those Black Pearl coatings look interesting. Looks like a legit contender to SF on trim. Does anyone spray it through a gun for tires? Not much detail about how to go about it on their website. Are you using a HPLV spray gun or an airbrush? I see a photo of both.

    CG's Citrus Wash...does it strip LSP's?

No I've read them. But like I said, who tries to strip 1 day old sealant? He doesn't do his test on 5-6 month sealant that is almost dead.

    CG's Citrus Wash...does it strip LSP's?

That's the CW & Gloss. Its loaded with its own gloss enhancers. The CG CW Red was a much stronger soap that was more capable of stripping an old EOL sealant/wax. Who is trying to strip fresh sealant anyways? You're also giving the car a good degreasing with this heavy soaps that something...

Coated my tires today and WOW,

All of these tire coating manufacturers need to provide a product or method to remove their coating and share that with the users! And I don't consider using a wire brush a good answer.

The whole idea behind not removing too much clear is very confusing..

If you're at 100 microns total thickness and subscribe to the 25% primer, 25% base color and 50% clear coat then the UV should be in the top 25-30% which would be about 12-15 microns. So there is some room for correction. You're just weakening the clear's ability to block or absorb the UV. So I...

Yes, I have probably 6-8 compounds. FG400 is probably my all around favorite.

The whole idea behind not removing too much clear is very confusing..

I have a few clients that don't get this. They know that I can remove the swirls that they put in the car, but never seem to care about my warnings that I can't keep doing this and they need to be more gentle with their car. It kills me to see people constantly polishing their hoods and roof...

The whole idea behind not removing too much clear is very confusing..

I remember the rule of thumb being that the UV protection migrates to the top half of the clear coat when drying. So you should never remove more than half of the clear. That is, if you have the ability to calculate the thickness of just the clear. A typical heavy compounding may remove 5-10...
