Korean Towel vs 700 GSM Towel

Pretty much this. Thick towels make applying OCW tougher than it has to be IMO. Plus they probably just soak up more product. Super plush towels also work great for the FINAL wipe.

Korean Towel vs 700 GSM Towel

All I can say is, even though everyone raves about "super plush" towels, sometimes they're just too darn thick. They're tougher to get clean and rinse properly too. Just a thought. If you can, why don't you get a couple or few of each? You can never have too many towels.

Detailed Black G35 (In really bad shape)

If that car's paint is anything like my black 04 350z's, it can probably be fixed if you want it. My paint was AWFUL. Used 105 on orange and then 205 on white/black or sf 4500 with the same. I think my paint is ridic soft as well. Somehow I got water spots all over the front of my hood...

Not sure how you guys do it

Try the Garry Dean wash method. I haven't done this myself yet, but I sure keep thinking about it. Not sure why I haven't pulled the trigger. I mean, you can't really get any safer than that. My car is small too, so it shouldn't require very many towels, especially considering how often I...

Compound and then Wax (no polish)?

Also, you might be really surprised at how hazy your paint actually looks after 105 if you're viewing it in the right light. A Brinkmann might really shed some light on the situation.. pardon the pun.

Keeping track of the clean face of folded MF towels

This thread is funny. I absolutely drive myself nuts trying to keep track.

    Polishing Plastic "Chrome"

lol, great idea! How long did it take to burn through with the rotary? I've never used one.

Repainted panel- what in the world.

For right now I think I'm just going to polish it out and be as gentle as I can when it comes to washing and waxing. I'm telling you, you wouldn't believe how easy these panels marr. It's interesting though. I took a second and looked and the one panel in the sun today, and it looks good. It...

Repainted panel- what in the world.

Well, my conclusion is, it's just a SUPER soft clear coat. I just went out the garage and sprayed some quick detailer on two panels. The resprayed panel has a swirl haze on it, the other is fine. So odd that it's THAT freaking soft. If I ever have a car resprayed again, I'll ask for a harder...

Probably a little bit at least, yeah. Probably depends on the soap.

Repainted panel- what in the world.

Lol, thought the same myself. When this bottle's out I probably won't buy anymore, at least not for quite a while. I figure I wax my car often enough, even if the first time I do it doesn't bond as well because of polishing oils, who cares, I'll be waxing again soon enough.

I'm talking even on waxed panels. It's slick for a while, but wears out quick. I don't know, I'll try to pay more attention to this down the road.

Repainted panel- what in the world.

Another thing, when I dry my car, the repainted parts I think seem more grabby. Would that be an effect of super soft clear or am I just going bonkers?

Repainted panel- what in the world.

rmangnus-- I think I may have figured it out. Now, I'm not 100% sure, but I think the paint on those repainted panels is just extremely soft. I did a test spot as you suggested, white/4500. I wiped it clean, then hit it with Eraser two different times. I tried to keep my wiping in the same...

It might have been a bad idea to get a Brinkmann

LOL, now that's funny. All things considered I'm really glad I got mine. They're relatively cheap, I think you should get one!

It might have been a bad idea to get a Brinkmann

Those are probably just rock chips. My front bumper is trashed, I don't even bother to polish it every time I polish my car. Full of rock chips from ten years of road trips, bug guts, etc. Someone hit me and marred the paint up on it a few months ago too. I wasn't even in the car so I don't...

Repainted panel- what in the world.

Not that it matters, but I thought you could polish and compound fresh paint anyways, you just couldn't wax/seal, right?

Repainted panel- what in the world.

I did the whole tape line thing this last time Mike. I'll do it again later tonight. Nah, it's not cracks. My bumper has cracks in it in one spot, so I think I know what you're talking about. I always appreciate you chiming in though.

Repainted panel- what in the world.

Menz 4500 never goes dry. Have you ever used it? I usually end up doing at least 8 passes with the stuff. What's up with the white pads? They're so much firmer than any other pad, even orange. I've always wondered this. In any case, I'll try what you say tomorrow just for giggles...

Repainted panel- what in the world.

It's so weird. If I polish with the Menz, it looks perfect until I hit it with heavy doses of Eraser. You really have to manipulate the light, but when you do, the swirls are pretty awful. So odd. I might try a freaking red or gold pad tomorrow and see what happens. I doubt it will do...
