I have had really good luck with the Rupes system on my lhr15. The only pad I struggled with was the blue pad which I have since replaced with the Meguiars microfiber disc and d300 or m105.

I used and abused my HF when I was first learning the basics and still have it around for small areas setup with a 3 inch backing plate. Like others have said never really need to go above speed 4.5. Good machine in my opinion.

I love my Rupes 15 but I think you will like either one. I started with a harbour freight so anything was a huge improvement for me!

I am actually restoring a 92 fox body that I completely sanded with 1500, 3000, and 5000. I used meguiars MF correction compound with both pads. The meguiars pads cut through so easily compared to the other MF pads. Also both pads were being used on a Rupes lhr15.

I agree on the 5 inch backing plate with the 5.5 inch pads they seem to be easier to maneuver around vehicles.

I dilute mine down to 10%, the article made figuring out the ratios super easy.

I have used the CG microfiber discs and tried the meguires and never looked back! The difference for me was night and day.

what are the air requirements for this tool? If my compressor now can handle the lhr75 would it be able to handle the g10?

If Chuck Norris was a DA polisher I think he would be a PC! I remember the first time I properly machine polished a vehicle and how blown away I was by the results!

I really like the microfiber pads and d300. Looks like a great setup, my first setup was nearly identical except for the polisher.

I went with abrasive technology since it's where the rubber meets the road and is what is actually doing the physical work to the paint. Wish I could have picked two because I think technique is equally important.
